TYPICAL BEHAVIOURAL QUESTION TOPICS

This list is useful when formulating your example stories using the STAR formula. For example, number 9
in this list is Teamwork.

The Topic therefore is teamwork but the Question might be ‘Could you give me an example of when you
worked within a group to achieve an outcome?’ or ‘As you know our business is dependent on teams
working together to have orders ready for shipping on time. Are you able to work within such an
environment and can you give us an example of when you have done this before?’

Tick the questions you think might relate to your area of work and then think of an example that you
could use in an interview. Then structure that example using the STAR formula.

You can use the same example from different perspectives if it proves your ability to achieve (or exceed)
the necessary outcomes.
