Abstract
The use of heavy trolleys has become increasingly popular in various

industries for transporting different types of loads. These trolleys are designed to

carry heavy loads with ease, and their sturdy construction helps to ensure maximum

efficiency and safety. Heavy trolleys are equipped with features such as durable

wheels, adjustable handles, and strong frames, all of which makes them ideal for

moving items such as boxes, crates, and equipment. They can also be customized with

additional features to suit specific needs. The use of heavy trolleys has greatly

improved productivity, efficiency, and safety in industries such as warehousing,

construction, and manufacturing.

THE PROBLEM AND ITS BACKGROUND

Introduction
General Rules About Lifting Heavy Objects in a Domestic Environment and at

Work. According to Hart (2020) oftentimes in our day-to-day life, we face the

challenge of lifting something rather heavy, be it bags of groceries, boxes of

miscellaneous items, work folders, etc. You must know the proper way to approach

and handle the given object. A bad lifting technique is among the leading causes of

severe injuries. Your health is of great importance, so we have prepared just for you

these rules on lifting heavy objects before you get on with the actual work.

The research report on a platform trolley claims that it is a product innovation.

According to Cliff (2013), trolley is the equipment used to move heavy loads from

one place to another. It helps reduce the human burden in their daily lives and

activities. A large number of industries to transport physical products commonly uses

this device. Those who organize and stock merchandise in retail stores restock often

use trolley. When used properly, trolley can protect people from having back injuries

and other health problems that can result from lifting and carrying heavy loads.

Design and Development of a Multi-Purpose Trolley. Timbadia and Khavekar

(2017) Trolley is the device used for carrying load or to transport the material from

one point to another. For different types of application, various types of Trolleys are

available in the market. Depending upon the specific use the one will select the

trolley, but it is limited to do a specific work. To overcome this problem, a new

trolley was designed which could be used for multi-purpose. There are many types of

trolley available in the market for various fields like airport, shopping malls,

industries, hospitals etc.

Pulling a school trolley: A good kinematic option for children. Gonzales,

Jimenez (2017) study analyzed the kinematic gait parameters associated with pulling

a school trolley with different loads and the effects of the type of packing device user

(backpack vs. trolley) and body side (loaded, unloaded). Methods Fifty-three

elementary subjects walked at a self-selected speed under four experimental

conditions: without a trolley and pulling a trolley with 10%, 15% and 20% of the

subjects body weight (BW).

Health and safety - Lifting and Moving weights. Ryan (2018) claims that

regular lifting of heavy weights can cause back injury. However, if appropriate lifting

equipment, including trolleys are used, injury can be avoided. Using proper lifting

equipment will help protect the workforce and keep workers at work and not off work

through injury.

The Importance and Different Types of Trolleys. Green (2018) Working in a

warehouse is one of the most labor-intensive jobs out there. That being said,

warehouse managers should do everything in their power to ensure their employees

are equipped with all the necessary tools and equipment, so that there is an

uninterrupted workflow. One of the most affordable and practical pieces of warehouse

equipment is the trolley.

which involve manual handling would benefit from using a truck or trolley to help

Hand Trucks & Trolleys: Types, Uses and Benefits. Wilson (2020) said that

there is nothing more important to any business than its employees. If the employees

are happy, their productivity will significantly increase and that can help your

business grow. Making small changes to habits can improve the levels of productivity

and efficiency in your work field. Using manual labor may lead to injuries and

fatalities of workers and that is certainly not a healthy work environment. Manual

handling aids, such as hand trucks and trolleys are important tools in helping to

reduce hazardous tasks.

Guide to Trolleys: Types and Buying Considerations. According to Facilitator

(2022) trolley is one of the most widespread material handling equipment. It is simple

to use, extremely tough, and safe and you’ll see dozens of designs to haul heavy items

from one place to another. With a trolley built for the task, transporting any type of

load will be done efficiently, quickly, and without the risk of injuries or accidents.

Different Types of Hand Trolleys. Waqar (2020) Moving heavy loads over

long distances, and for the better part of the day, is excruciating, to say the least.

Luckily, with the right equipment, you can eliminate most of the hassle. Hand trucks

and trolleys are simple yet highly effective pieces of material handling equipment that

can move any type of load, safely and securely.

Benefits of a rolling lift cart. According to Akgenman (2018) farm equipment

is often heavy, bulky, hard to move, and could require two people to safely lift or

move items, or to hitch equipment to a tractor. A good alternative to back-straining

lifting is a rolling lift cart. Rolling lift carts reduce the risk of injury from lifting and

carrying heavy objects. A rolling lift cart allows you to lift an object from the floor,

bench, or table with minimal manual lifting, and move the equipment to where you

want it, and raise or lower the height of the cart to allow easy attachment or transfer of

the equipment. A lift cart can be used to unload heavy objects from a truck bed and

move them where you want within the shop or barn. The lift table height is raised

with a foot pedal and lowered with a hand-release lever.

The Importance of Lifting Height and Load Mass for Muscular Workload

during Supermarket Stocking: Cross-Sectional Field Study. According to Skovlund

(2022), high physical work demands increase the risk of musculoskeletal disorders

and sickness absence. Supermarket work involves a high amount of manual material

handling. Identifying specific ergonomic risk factors is an important part of

occupational health and safety efforts in the supermarket sector. In this cross-sectional

field study among 64 supermarket workers, we used electromyography during the

workday to determine the influence of lifting height and load mass on the muscular

workload of the low-back and neck/shoulder muscles during unrestricted manual

material handling (grocery stocking).

Design and Development of an Ergonomic Trolley-Lifter for Sheet Metal

Handling Task: A Preliminary Study. Umar, Ahmad, Lee (2019) There have been some

concerns related to manual handling of large items in the industry. Manual handling

operations of large sheet metal may expose workers to risks related to efficiency as

well as occupational safety and health. Large sheet metals are difficult to move and

burdensome to lift/transfer, and handling the sharp sheet edges may result in contact

stress and/or cut injuries on the workers.

Development of Anthropometric Chair Based on Arm Span, Knee Height, and

Sitting Height for Elderly. Research found that an ergonomic chair could improve

efficiency, reduce disease caused by infection and other MSDs problems. It can also

improve nutrition level of elderly persons. Hutasuhut, F. and Erwin (2016).

A Study on Design Method of Intelligent Platform Trolley. Study found that

an intelligent platform trolley could be made to research things and analyze various

loads by concentrating stress (static) at right panel, connectors, front and back ends of

trolley. Zhang, Q. Song, M.M.,Xiao,S.G.and Luo,Z.(2017).

Design and Fabrication of Easy Handling Trolley. A single and double wheel

trolley can be used to reduce lifting stress that is only on flat ground and a mechanism

for transporting over stairs of masses may be done by it.Shiwarkar, S.S., Pairag, S.D.

and Zaveri, S.R. (2018).

Stair Climbing Trolley

This project aims at developing a mechanism for easy transportation of heavy

loads over stairs. The need for such a system arises from day-to-day requirements in

our society. Devices such as hand trolleys are used to relieve the stress of lifting while

on flat ground; however, these devices usually fail when it comes to carrying the load

over short fleet of stairs. In the light of this, the project attempts to design a stair

climbing handcart which can carry heavy objects up the stairs with less effort

Designed device such as a hand trolley used to relieve the stresses of lifting

while on flat ground. However, these devices usually fail when it comes to carrying

the load over short fleet to carry heavy objects up the stairs with less effort compared

to carrying them manually. The main objective of the project is to find an efficient

and user-friendly method of carrying various objects through stairs using minimum

Conceptual Framework
This study entitled “THE USE OF HEAVY TROLLEY IN CARRYING

DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOADS” is inspired by the article written at

Encyclopedia.com about the trolley in the mid-1880s, the Trolley was invented in

the United States by American engineer and inventor Frank Julian Sprague (1857–

1934). Through the idea of Sprague, We, the researchers decided to create our model

of Trolley to help the school in carrying different loads efficiently with less effort.

The researchers will ask either teachers or students to use the Trolley in order to gain

their useful feedback to know if the created product is appropriate for the school.

Statement of the problem
The project entitled “THE USE OF HEAVY TROLLEY IN CARRYING

DIFFERENT TYPES OF LOADS” seek to answer the following question.

1. How may the profile of the respondents be describes in terms of:

2. How may the feedback of the respondents towards using heavy Trolley be

Scope and limitation

This study will be conducted in Lino P. Bernardo National High School, SY

2022-2023 that is located at Purok Gulod Brgy Bago General Tinio Nueva Ecija. This

project entitled The use of heavy trolley in carrying different types of loads aims to

help the teachers and students to lift up the heavy object to move properly without

pain and difficulty.

This study focuses to the teachers and students’ feedback to help in lifting and

transporting heavy objects. The result of this study will be applicable only to the

respondent of this study and will not be used as a measure to the effect of heavy

trolley in carrying different types of loads to the students and to our school of this

study. The main source of data will be the questionnaire, which is prepared by

researchers.

Significance of the study

Through this study, this can help the students of Lino P. Bernardo National

High School to carrying different types of loads. This study avails to the following:

METHODS AND PROCEDURE
This chapter research local, method of deals with the research design,

collecting data, sampling and techniques and data analysis use their study.

Research design

The researcher used descriptive research in this study because they aim to

descriptive about our topic, which is about the use of heavy trolley in carrying

different types of loads. This design will be use to describe the respondents’ response

towards using heavy trolley in lifting different loads. The data to be collected will be

used for proposed project to further help the school.

Research locale

The researchers conducted this study at Lino P. Bernardo National High

School, SY. 2022-2023. This school is located at Brgy. Bago General Tinio Nueva

Ecija and it is near in Fort Magsaysay. LPBNHS has talented students and respectful

students. The school has a total population of 868 students. Junior High has 601

students while Senior High has 267 students. The school also has 36 equally

competent teachers in both Junior and Senior High and has one school guard and one

school utility.

Sample and Sampling Procedure

This research will use convenience sampling. It is a non-probability sampling

method where units are selected for inclusion in the sample because they are the

easiest for the research access. The chosen respondents are the ones who requires

assistance in lifting or transporting their loads. After using the Trolley, they will be

asked about their response and those data to be collected will the basis for the

proposed project.

Research instrument
The needed data will be collected through the use of questionnaire constructed

by the researcher. The questionnaire that is divided into two parts will be used to find

the use of heavy trolley in carrying different types of loads.

The first part will collect the profile while the second part will be categorized

according to the use of heavy trolley in carrying different types of loads.

To check the reliability and validity of the questionnaire, the researchers will

seek the help of five experts who are knowledgeable in the field of research. The

experts will rate the questionnaire using the following criteria: 5 Excellent; 4 Very

Good; 3 Good; 2 Fair; 1 Poor.

question meant to yield data for a research study.

response of the respondents towards the use of heavy trolley. The collected response

This chapter present the data gathered, analysis of each data with concise

description, and interpretation with precise explanations on the profile, attitude, and

the challenges as basis for proposed program.

1. Profile of the Respondents

The following tables present the profile of the respondents gathered from 16

Lino P Bernardo National High School Students. Profile includes AGE, SEX,

GRADE and SECTION.

1.1 Age

In terms of Age, the frequency and percentage were presented in Table 1 to

show the numbers of Age of students who support at the Heavy trolley the students of

Lino P Bernardo National High School (Senior High) participants in this Research

study.

According to this table, The Respondent of this research study is the Iino P

Bernardo National High School Students with a total of 16 respondents from senior

high school. The table above shows that the highest of participants is from age 18

years old, which frequency is 7 (43.75%). the age of 18 is one of the mature ages and

at this age, the students' bodies are still strong.

1.2 Sex
In terms of Sex, the frequency and percentage were presented in Table 2 to

show the numbers of Males and females who support the Heavy trolley of the students

of Lino P Bernardo National High School (Senior High) participants in this research

study.

School Students with a total of 16 respondents from senior high school. 16 males are

on the table because men are the ones who can be counted on for heavy tasks.

in Table 3 to show the numbers of Grade and Section who support at the Heavy

trolley the students of Lino P Bernardo National High School (Senior high)

participants in this research study.

The Respondent of this research study is the Iino P Bernardo National High

School Students at the total of 16 respondent from senior high school. Because in 11

Smaw and 12 Smaw there are many men who are hardworking and easy to command

and it is also in this strand that they are kind when it comes to heavy tasks.

2. Feedback of the respondents towards using heavy Trolley

The feedback of respondents in The use of Heavy trolley in Carrying different

types of loads was described through the data gathered from the questionnaire which

focused on the three components of feedback, Age, Sex, Grade and Section. Thus, the

collected data were analysed through weighted mean and interpreted with verbal

description. The indicators at the same time have verbal interpretation to fully

understand what the responses mean in the study.

possible everyone should avoid manual handling loads to help reduce workplace

accidents. If you are using a trolley, or are managing students using trolleys at work, it

is crucial you are diligent and take the necessary precautions for ultimate workplace

safety.

This chapter presents the Summary, Conclusion, and Recommendations of the

research study about The Use of Heavy Trolley in Carrying Different Types of Loads.

Summary
1. Profile of the Respondents
● There are only 3 ages in our respondents, 16 years old frequency of 3. 17 years old

frequency of 6. 18 years old with frequency of 7.

● All respondents of these research study is only male, because men are the ones who

can be responsible on heavy tasks.

● The respondents of this research study was from 11- TVL-A (smaw) and 12- TVL-

A (smaw). . Because in 11 Smaw and 12 Smaw there are many men who are

hardworking and easy to command and it is also in this strand that they are kind when

it comes to heavy tasks.

2. The feedback of the respondents towards using Heavy trolley.

The feedback of the respondents in our research project is that the use of

heavy trolley makes them satisfied, happy and enjoyed while using that heavy trolley.

The study shows that heavy trolley is good way to transport the heavy objects. At the

same time, heavy trolley help the study to transport easily and fast with fun. In fact, it

was found out that the respondents believed that it is very useful and helpful our

heavy trolley in carrying different types of loads.

3. Proposed heavy trolley to help the school in lifting and transporting

different kind of loads.

The research project was to carrying different types of loads. Heavy trolley

helped school to transport easily the heavy object without doubt injured the students.

With the help of heavy trolley students easily move and lift the heavy object.

Conclusion
After conducting the research study and analyzing its results. The researchers

came up with the following findings based on the data gathered about Heavy trolley

in the students of Lino P Bernardo National High School (Senior high).

1. Based on the data gathered, the respondents who participated in the study

had varying ages, sex, and Grade and sections. The age range of the participants was

from 16 to 18 years old. Most participants were male frequency of 16 (100%). The

grade and sections 11 TVL-A(smaw) and 12 TVL-A(smaw) are same of total of 8

people.

2. The problems encountered by the respondents in using the Heavy trolley are

varied and include technical difficulties, the tire is too small, it means can be loaded

or placed is limited to a maximum of 200 to 250 kilos. Durability and maintenance

concerns, and cost. Despite these challenges, the Heavy trolley is still viewed as a

valuable addition to our school.

3. The school will benefited in this project in terms of transporting and

carrying the loads. This project can help the students, teachers, and the school. Heavy

trolley are very usable and easy to use you an option to use it even its pull or push

depends on the users.

Recommendations

The following recommendations from the researchers to promote the heavy

trolley to carrying different types of loads.

1. When it comes to lifting and transporting heavy loads, age, sex, grade, and

section are all important factors to consider. Therefore, it is highly recommended for

individuals of all ages and sexes, across all grades and sections, to use heavy trolleys

when carrying heavy loads. This is particularly important for older individuals or

those with physical limitations, as the use of heavy trolleys can help to reduce the risk

of physical strain and injuries.

2. Based on the feedback received from respondents, the use of heavy trolleys

is generally seen as a positive solution for carrying heavy loads. Respondents have

reported that using heavy trolleys can help to reduce the physical strain of carrying

heavy loads, as well as promote safety and convenience in various settings.

3. Using a heavy trolley in carrying different types of loads can provide

numerous benefits, such as reducing the strain on the body, improving efficiency, and

minimizing damage to the load. To help the school in lifting and transporting different

kinds of loads, a heavy-duty platform trolley may be proposed. This type of trolley is

sturdy, has a large weight capacity, and can accommodate oversized items. It also has

a flat surface for easy loading and unloading and can be easily maneuvered through

tight spaces, making it an ideal choice for schools.

4. Based on our research and data gathered, it is highly recommended to use

heavy trolleys in carrying different types of loads. The use of heavy trolleys not only

makes lifting and transporting heavy loads easier and more convenient but also

reduces the risk of physical strain and injuries. The study conducted at Lino P.

Bernardo National High School proved that the use of heavy trolleys improved

productivity and helped promote safety and convenience in the school environment.
