Introduction:

In electronic communications systems, it is frequently

necessary to divide a particular frequency range from
the entire frequency spectrum. This is frequently
accomplished using filters. A filter is an electrical
circuit that lets some frequencies pass while blocking
others. A passive filter is made out of passive circuit
components like capacitors, inductors, and resistors.

The most fundamental types of filters include:

a) A low-pass filter lets only frequencies below its
cutoff frequency through while rejecting all frequencies
above it.
b) b) A high-pass filter is a filter that rejects any
frequencies below its cutoff frequency while permitting
any frequencies above it to pass.
c) c) A band-pass filter rejects any frequency outside
the band while allowing all frequencies inside the band
to pass.
d) d) Band-stop filter - allows frequencies outside the
band to pass through while rejecting all frequencies
inside the band.

In this experiment, we'll examine low-pass and high-

pass filters.
4

Objective
Examine how changing the frequency affects the output
voltage of the low-pass and high-pass filters.
Plot the voltage-frequency response of the outputs of the RC
low-pass and high-pass filters..

We will implement the circuit in figure 1 then we set the Vin to

a 10V pp sin wave at 10KHz before changing the frequency.
