Activity 1.a Common Lab Supplies in The CC 1 Lab
Activity 1.a Common Lab Supplies in The CC 1 Lab
Introduction
Clinical Chemistry is a quantitative science that deals with
determining the concentrations of biologically relevant compounds
(known as analytes) in body fluids. These compounds' concentrations
are measured using methods that have been carefully designed to
deliver accurate results.
In the measurement of an analyte’s concentration, a Medical
Laboratory Scientist or Medical Technologist must properly identify the
laboratory instruments, equipment, glasswares, or plasticwares which
are needed in the collection of blood and other body fluids and at the
same time the performance of laboratory procedures.
Complete laboratory materials ensure the orderly collection of
samples and the conduct of laboratory procedures.
Objectives
At the end of this activity, the learner will be able to:
1. identify the laboratory instruments or supplies which are
commonly used in the laboratory.
2. describe the use/s of each laboratory instrument/supply.
