Kaputian Falls

Refreshing. Enchanting. Mesmerizing. Three words to describe Kaputian

Falls, one of the remarkable bodies of water in Borongan City.

Kaputian Falls is located at Brgy. San Gabriel which is 11 kilometers away

from the city proper. It is called “Kaputian” because of the surrounding big, white
rocks and tiger grass named as “Puti” in Waray. Puti is also the Filipino word for
white.

This scenic tourist spot is often visited by local and foreign tourists, and of
course by the natives of the place. Balikbayans love to bring their families there
for reunions. Visitors would surely find the fresh, icy-cold water irresistible. They
would also enjoy climbing the huge rocks and dive straight into the lagoon.

The waterfalls can be reached by riding a tricycle, motorcycle, car, and

other vehicles. It takes approximately 30-40-minute travel time from Borongan
City transport terminal to reach the barangay where it is located. Then, from the
barangay, it takes an estimated 20-30-minute nature trek where you would pass
along mountainous terrain, rocky trails, and rivers. Yes, going there is not a piece
of cake but all these hardships would all be paid off once you arrive and see the
beauty of Kaputian Falls.
