Hands Are Hard Fingerless Gloves

Pattern is written to be one-size-fits-most women’s fingerless gloves

Materials:

 Worsted Weight yarn of your choice (I recommend Red Heart With Love, Red Heart Soft, Caron Simply Soft, or I
Love This Yarn from Hobby Lobby). I will note that Red Heart Soft and Caron Simply Soft, while labeled as
worsted weight yarn, tends to run thinner than regular worsted weight yarn, so if using one of these you may
want to go up a size while crocheting.
 Crochet Hook sizes G and I
 Yarn Needle

Abbreviations:

 Ch = chain
 Slst = slip stitch
 Sc = single crochet
 RND = round
 BLO = back loop only

Begin Pattern

Ribbed Wrist Cuff:

1. With G hook chain 12. SC in 2nd ch from hook and in each ch across. 11 sts. Ch 1, turn.
2. Ch 1, SC in BLO of each st across. 11 sts total. Ch 1, turn.
3. Rows 3 – 25: Repeat Row 2
4. Row 26: Working in BLO and through remaining sts of starting ch, slst both ends together to form a tube. Ch 1
but DO NOT turn.

Hand:

1. Switch to I hook. Working across ends of Cuff Rows work 25 sc around. Join with a slst to starting ch. Ch 1,
turn.
2. Sc in each st across. Ch 1, turn.
3. Repeat Row 2
4. 2 sc in first sc, sc in next 5 sts. *2 sc in next sc, sc in next 5 sts*. Repeat from * to *around. Sc in last sc, slst in
first sc, ch 1, turn. Do not put 2 sc in last st, instead 1 sc in last st.

Split for Thumb Opening:

Left Hand: SC in same sc and in next 3 sc, ch 3, sk 5, sc in next sc. Sc in rest around. Ch 1, turn.

Right Hand: Sc in first sc and next 19, ch 3, sk 5, sc in next sc. Sc in rest around. Ch 1, turn.

Knuckles and Ribbing:

SC in each sc and ch around, slst in first sc, ch 1, turn.


SC-DEC over first 2, sc in next 10, sc-dec over next 2, sc in rest around. Ch 1, turn.
Switch back to G Hook
CH 5, SC in 2nd ch from hook and remaining chains. Slst in next 2 sc of glove, turn.
**Working in BLO sc in each sc across. Ch 1, turn
Still working in BLO sc in each sc across, slst in next 2 sc of glove, turn.**
Repeat from ** to ** around entire finger opening. Working through BLO and remaining chains of beginning ch,
slst ends of rows together. Fasten off.

Thumb

1. With G Hook join yarn in corner of thumb hole closest to the seam, ch 5, sc in 2nd chain from hook and in each
remaining chain. Slst in next 2 sc, turn.
**Working in BLO sc in each in each sc across. Ch 1, turn.
Still working in BLO sc in each sc across, slst in next 2 sc of glove, turn.**
Repeat from ** to ** around entire thumb opening. Working through BLO and remaining chains of beginning
ch, slst ends of rows together. Fasten off.
