This research provides YOU with background, meaningful understanding, and ideas for meaningful questions that
engage the students in discussing the critical issues of the unit. Find a minimum of 3 artworks and 2 other
resources supporting your idea. If you do not find enough research and contextual information about a topic,
chose another idea. If you find in your critical inquiry or in your contextual research that the researched artworks
do not fit your defined theme or could not be used appropriately with students, you must move on to find a
better theme or other works. This research develops the issues of the unit and give it direction.

Write a short rationale of your topic:

Briefly describe your chosen resources and how the ideas may or may not fit together…
Chose at least one resource and complete the following research actions:

1. DESCRIPTION AND INTERPRETATION Chose at least one resource. Interpret the work(s) based on personal and
contextual understanding. Consider the works story, “aboutness” and messages. Examine the work of art and
react to it. Describe what you see and begin to make connections.
