Colors: 5054 cyclamen, 000 white, 5308 turquoise, 5046 pink, 5316 light blue, 5322
grey-brown, 5546 spring green, 5329 light green , 5049 orange - you will need up to
100 g together

100% cotton - Katka by Nitarna Ceska Trebova


Weight: Sport / 5 ply (12 wpi)
Colors: 7864 dark brown, 7134 light brown, 0010 white, 3374 red – you will need quiet
small amount

A hook – size 2,5;3;3,5

Other materials: beads, spangles, thing cotton - brown, black, turquoise, pink, craft
buttons, 6 big buttons

Height: 32 cm / 12 inches without loop

Pink part
Crochet 66 chain stitches. Work with double yarn light pink color (Nela, color 3214);
Hook No.3. Continue 66 SC, turn work, repeat - overall 54 rows. You will have a
rectangle in the dimensions of about 40 cm x 32 cm (16 / 12,5 inches). Crochet around
rectangle one row of SC. Around vertical edges and bottom crochet the arches - use only
a single strand of the yarn.

Arches diagram

5 DC in one stitch, leave two stitches, work in 3rd stitch 1 SlSt – repeat.

Brown pocket
First do a bottom of the pocket. Work with double yarn brown-grey color (Camilla, No.
5322) – use Hook No. 3. Crochet in circle (spiral) rounds. Please, follow the diagram or

Beginning: 6 CH
1) go back 5 SC, continue circle direction 5 SC
2) 6 SC in one stitch, 4 SC, 3 times 2 SC in one stitch, 5 SC
3) 4 times 2 SC in one stitch, 6 SC, 4 times 2 SC in one stitch, 7 SC
4) 6 times 2 SC in one stitch, 8 SC, 7 SC in one stitch, 4 SC, 1 SlSt, end work

Bottom of the pocket

Sew the middle 14 stitches of the bottom onto the pink part of wall-pocket about 5 cm /2
inches (approximaltly) from the left edge, in the 4th row of SC on the pink part. Then
work with 22 stitches, which are left – make the following rows in SC with brown color
cotton (use only one thread). Work 36 rows, then end the work and sew on the free
brown edges onto the pink part. You could sew onto this pocket a small flower.

Flower application instruction:


Beginning: CH 5 –join in the circle with SlSt
1st round: CH 1, SC 9, join in the circle with SlSt
2nd round: *CH 3, skip one stitch, SC 1* - repeat 4 times, join with SlSt – you will have 5
holes
3rd round: 1 SC, 4 DC, 1 SlSt – all in one hole, repeat into every hole, end work.

Picture No. 4: Brown pocket

You could also put a ribbon on this pocket. It is the made from a chain of 40 CH in
raspberry yarn. The ends are tied with added beads. From the center of this pocket make
the “ branches” on the pink part. You could also embroider them or crochet with SlSt as I
did – but embroidering them will be the easier way, I think. Make one branch longer as
the others to perch the owl there.

Beginning: 10 CH
1) 7 DC, turn work
2) 3 CH as a 1st DC, 7 DC, turn work
3) 3 CH as a 1st DC, 2 DC – these 3 DC crochet together, 2 DC, 3 DC, which crochet
together, turn work
4) 1 CH, 2 HDC, 1 SlSt
5) crochet SC around all body of owl: 1 CH, 3 times 2 SC in one stitch, 6 SC, 2 SC in
corner stitch, 6 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 6 SC, 1 SlSt, end work.

Legs: Hook No. 2,5, Camilla No. 5308


5 CH, 1 SlSt, 8 CH, 1 StSt, 5 CH – all in one stitch end work

Eye: Hook No. 2,5, Camilla No. 000; Make second eye the same.
3 CH, join with SlSt to do a ring
3 CH as a 1st DC, 1DC, 8 DC, join with SlSt, end work

Wing: Hook No. 2,5, Camilla No. 531; Make a second wing the same way.
Beginning: 6 CH
1) go back 5 SC

Finishing of the owl:

Sew the eyes onto the body. In the middle of the eye sew black spangle and embroider
the eyes. Embroider the owl beak with orange cotton. Sew the wings on the body of owl.
Embroider the owl following your imagination.

Make 15 leaves (Use: hook No. 2,5, Camilla, No. 5329, 5546). Varying the color.

Neaten loose threads; sew the owl and leaves onto the pink part. Embroider the
branches following your imagination with beads.

Green pocket
Work with green color cotton (Camilla, No. 5546), use hook No.3 - make 39 SC direct on
the pink part.

There is a “how too” photo – please begin the pocket using this method.

Begin in the 5th stitch from right edge (approximatly), in the 4th row of the pink part.
Make 24 rows of SC, then end the work. Make the arches on the upper edge (5 DC in one
stitch, leave two stitches, work in 3rd stitch 1 SlSt – repeat)
Around vertical edges make 1 row of SC. Sew mushrooms and hedgehog onto the
pocket. Embroider the pocket following your fantasy and then sew the vertical edges on
the pink part.

Make a row of SC all around the body of hedgehog. Continue in the direction of the arrow
as follows: 1 CH, 7 SC, make 2 SC in corner stitch, 5 SC, make 2 SC in corner stitch, 8
SC, 5 times 2 SC in one stitch, 2 SC, join with first SC by SlSt, end the work.

Continue with head. Work with light brown yarn - 7134 light brown

Make the legs: Work with cyclamen color


3 DC in one stitch, 1 SlSt, 3 DC and 1 SlSt in one stitch, end. Make second leg the same.

From dot to dot in the direction of the arrow, crochet in crab stitch (reverse single
crochet)

Make the eye. Work with white yarn (Hook No 2,5, Katka, 0010). 4 CH, join in the circle,
3 CH as a 1st DC, 7 DC, join with the first DC by SlSt.

Finishing the hedgehog:

Sew the eye onto the head. Sew a black spangle in the middle and embroider the eye.
Embroider the body with beads following your imagination. Sew the apples (bobbles) on
the body.
Apples: 4 CH, do 6 DC in the 1st stitch, but you don’t finished them, they stay on the
hook, then do a loop and put the yarn truth all stitches at once, 1CH, end work.

Pink pocket

Work with pink color cotton (Camilla, No. 5046), use hook No.3 - do 29 SC direct onto
the pink part.

There is a photo to help explain the process, begin the pocket this way.

Begin in the 5th stitch from right edge (approximatly), in the 27th row from the edge of
the pink part. Make 22 rows of SC, then end the work. Make the arches on the upper
edge (5 DC in one stitch, leave two stitches, work in 3rd stitch 1 SlSt – repeat)
Around vertical edges, make 1 row of SC. Embroider the pocket with flowers and beads
following your imagination. Sew the ladybug on the pocket and then sew the vertical
edges on the pink part.

1) First of all you will make the wings of the ladybug. Follow the diagram, please or text
below the picture. Make this wing twice. The wings are crocheted in rounds. Both wings
are the same pattern.

Beginning – CH 7
1st round: SC 6
2nd round: 1 CH, 3 SC, 1 HDC, 1 DC, 2 DC in one stitch, 5 DC in one stitch – go on from
the other side with 2 DC in one stitch, 1 DC, 1 HDC, 3 SC

4) Then continue with round No. 6 and crochet SC all around the body.

1 CH, 6 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2
SC in one stitch, 4 SC, in the middle between wings make 1 StSt, 4 SC, 2 SC in one
stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 2 SC in one stitch, 1 SC, 6
SC,
SlSt.

5) Make the head with black color cotton see round No. 6 at the diagram.

1 SC, 1 HCD, 3 DC in one stitch, 1 HDC, 1 SC, end work.

6) Crochet the abdomen – (black color) 4 CH and in the first chain make 7 DC, end.

Finishing
When you have made all parts, than you should sew in loose threads, sew abdomen on
the body, sew the spangles or buttons on, and you have done it!J

Straps

Make the straps on the upper edge of the pink part. Work with light pink color cotton,
double yarn, hook No. 3,5.

Note: First of all measure the space between wood rails – if you plan on hanging it onto
a baby crib. After that make the straps! If the space between the straps is different you
will have to adjust the number of stitches.

12 SC

leave 15
stitches

Make every loop separately: 20 rows of SC. In the 18th row make the holes: 3 SC, leave
2 stitches, 2 CH, 2 SC, leave 2 stitches, 2 CH, 3 SC, 3 SC. In the next row make 2 SC in
the 2 CH space. Sew the buttons, neaten loose threads and you have done it.
