Dear Mayor Johnson, Alderman Brostoff, Commissioner
KURT BAUER Kruschke, and Commissioner Crump,
Director
We appreciate all your help and attention to slowing cars down
MIKE O’CONNOR
Director on Brady Street.

ANDREA ROWE RICHARDS The efforts to control traffic on Brady Street are not proving to
Director
be traffic calming at all and have put pedestrians at crosswalks
TIM SLUGA and bus stops directly in harm’s way of speeding motorists. In
Director addition to making pedestrians less safe, by pushing the fast
moving cars closer to the curbs these efforts have made it less
JENO CATALDO
Director safe for bikes traveling down Brady.

AL MUSA Also these new efforts are proving to be a detriment to

Director
businesses located on that area of the street.

It’s understood the need to slow down traffic for the safety of
STAFF pedestrians. There are other methods less severe than the
RACHEL TAYLOR, MBA
approach that has been initiated. Such as STOP SIGNS, and
Executive Director
lawful enforcement methods provided by the Milwaukee Police

Department.

The BID Board of Directors requests stops signs installed at the following locations:

• Northeast corner by La Masa

• Southeast location between JoCats and Dorsia
• Southwest corner by Wurst bar
• Northwest corner by BeSTD Clinic

With that said, the current traffic lanes should be removed, and Stop signs need to be
put in place. Also, restore street lanes, parking, and loading zones back to their previous
locations.

As a Business Improvement District, we have the responsibility to keep businesses

thriving, along with keeping our pedestrians safe.

Most of the unfortunate incidents that have taken place occurred during bar closing times.
The Brady St BID board of directors suggests a Police presence, and action at that time.

The BID Board of Directors requests the following:

• Not installing planters

• DPW restore traffic lanes
• DPW install stop signs
• DPW restore previous parking and loading zones

Sincerely,

Rachel Taylor
Executive Director

on behalf of the Brady Street Business Improvement Board of Directors
