CVC & Non-Sense Word Game

Players 2-5 students in the small group setting/literacy centers. PREPARATION Print, laminate, and cut out the candy corns on pages 2-3. (Cut out each candy corn so they are in three separate pieces). Print and laminate a Spooky Pumpkins Game Mat for each player. Sort the candy pieces (orange, white, and yellow) and lay in the middle of the players. How to play The first player will select three pieces (orange, white, and yellow) of candy corn. They must lay the candy corn pieces in the mouth of the pumpkin. The player must say the sounds of each letter and put the sounds back together to read the word. They must determine if the word is a real or silly word by graphing the results below the pumpkins. Each player will repeat the same steps. The first player to collect six real or silly words is the winner!
