RE-ORGANIZING THE BARANGAY COUNCIL FOR THE PROTECTION OF CHILDREN (BCPC) OF

BARANGAY CANAWAY, KITCHARAO, AGUSAN DEL NORTE.

WHEREAS, It is the body of responsible of the community which includes a

representative of the youth and representatives of the government and private agencies
concerned with the Welfare of Children and Youth whose areas of assignment includes the
particular barangay. Membership in BCPC shall be purely on voluntarily basis (P.D 603, Art.87).

WHEREAS, To ensure the full implementation of the rights of every child to live in
society that offers or guarantees him safety, health, good environment and facilities for his
wholesome development. The child and youth welfare Code or P.D 603, DILG MC No. 91-57.

NOW THEREFORE, I CHARLEMIN P. MORALES, Punong Barangay of Barangay Canaway,

Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte by virtue of the powers vested in me by law do hereby promulgate
the following order:

Section 1 : Organization
 There is hereby a organized Barangay Council for the Protection of
Children(BCPC) of Barangay Canaway, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte for CY 2022.

Section 2 : Composition
 The Organized Barangay Council for the Protection of Children(BCPC) of
Barangay Canaway, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte shall be composed of the
following :

Section 3 : Duties and Function

 The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children(BCPC) shall be perform the
following duties and functions :

1. Foster the education of every child in the Barangay.

2. Encouragement proper performance of duties of parents.
3. Protect and Assist abandoned and maltreated children.
4. Take Steps to prevent performance of duties of parents, juvenile delinquency
and assist parents of children with behavioral problems.
5. Adopt measures for the health of Children.
6. Promote opening and maintenance of playgrounds and Day Care Centers and
other services necessary for Child and Youth Welfare.
7. Coordinate the Activities of Organizations devoted to the Welfare of Children
and secure their cooperation.
8. Promote wholesome entertainment in the community especially in movie
houses.
9. Assist Parents whenever necessary in securing expert guidance counseling from
the proper governmental or private Welfare Agency.
10. Protect Working Children from abuse and exploitation.

Section 4 : Meeting
 The Barangay Council for the Protection of Children (BCPC) shall meet once or
two a month or as often as necessary.

Section 5 : Effectivity
 This Executive Order shall take effect immediately.

Done this 18th day of January, 2022 at the Office of the Punong Barangay of Barangay
Canaway, Kitcharao, Agusan del Norte, Philippines.
