GENERAL INFO Y RETIREMENT
Nadia Comaneci is a renowned Romanian gymnast, born on
November 12, 1961 in Onesti, Romania. She is one of the most
prominent figures in the history of artistic gymnastics and
became the first gymnast to obtain a perfect score of 10 at
the 1976 Montreal Olympics. Nadia Comaneci retired from
artistic gymnastics before the 1984 Los Angeles Games.
CHILDHOOD
From a very early age, she showed a great interest and talent for
gymnastics. At the age of six, she began training at a local gymnastics club
in her hometown.

Her coach, Bela Karolyi, soon realized Nadia's exceptional potential and
dedicated her to rigorous training. Although she was very young, her
discipline and determination stood out, and she became a child prodigy in
gymnastics. Nadia discovered her talent and continued to practice.

As she grew older, Nadia Comaneci began competing in local and national
events in Romania. At the age of 13, she came to international attention by
winning the overall title in the European Cup competition in 1975. However,
it was at the 1976 Montreal Olympics that she achieved worldwide fame,
where she left an indelible mark by earning a perfect score of 10 on the
uneven bars.

A highlight of Nadia Comaneci's career was her performance at the 1976 Montreal Olympics, where she achieved a perfect score of 10 on the
uneven bars and balance beam events. This feat made her the first gymnast in history to achieve a perfect score at an Olympic Games, which
was a groundbreaking achievement in women's artistic gymnastics. In addition, during those Games, Nadia Comaneci obtained a total of seven
perfect scores, winning three gold, one silver and one bronze medal. Her flawless performance and level of technical excellence set a new
standard in gymnastics and catapulted her to worldwide fame, making her a legend of the sport.

Perfect Score: At the 1976 Montreal Olympics, Nadia
Comaneci became the first gymnast in history to receive

Olympic medals: At the 1976 Olympic Games, Nadia


Comaneci won a total of nine medals.

World Championships: Nadia Comaneci won five gold


medals at the Artistic Gymnastics World Championships.

European medals: Comaneci also won several titles and


medals at the European Artistic Gymnastics
Championships. She won the overall title in 1975 and 1977,
and won multiple gold medals.
PERSONAL LIFE
Nadia Comaneci, born November 12, 1961 in Onesti, Romania,
was a renowned gymnast who excelled in the 1970s. As for
her personal life, she married American gymnast Bart Conner
in 1996. The couple has a son named Dylan, born in 2006.
Nadia has been an influential figure in the world of
gymnastics, and after her fame, she has continued to do
shows, TV presentations, etc.
PERSONAL REFLECTION
In my personal reflection, it seems to me that Nadia
Comaneci has been a great influence in gymnastics, and
not only that but for any discipline, to have achieved such
an incredible feat, thanks to her values, which was
constant, practice, etc.. It is incredible to see these great
achievements more and more in every sport or practice,
this is thanks to the dedication and practice that one has
and takes to perform a sport or something.
