RE: Survey of Likely General Election Voters in Virginia House District 57

Nearly all voters are aware of the Susanna

Gibson sex scandal story.
• Just by media coverage alone, more than 80%
of voters have already heard about Susanna
Gibson’s online business and behaviors.
• Independents are the group most likely to be
aware of the scandal.
• 77% of voters undecided in the HD 57
election are aware the news story.
• Additionally, 65% of voters do not believe a
“candidate for public office who posts publicly-
available videos online should be allowed to claim they should have privacy.”

Gibson is very unpopular and deeply underwater with key voter groups.
• Susanna Gibson is now viewed
very unfavorably by voters (27%
favorable – 45% unfavorable) and is
upside down with most demographic
groups. This is in contrast to last month
when she had a net favorable image.
• Independents (27% favorable –
45% unfavorable), college-educated
women (30% favorable – 43%
unfavorable), and college-educated
men (26% favorable – 52% unfavorable)
view Gibson as highly unlikeable.

Susanna Gibson made District 57 even more Republican-leaning.

• While a generic Republican
leads by 4 points, David Owen
now leads Susanna Gibson
by a whopping 11 points.
• Prior to the scandal, Owen was
only ahead of Gibson by 4
points, showing a near 3x
increase in Owen’s lead.
• Owen now leads with
Independents by 12 points.
