EXT. HENLEY – (MORNING) – POV SHOT

A person is poking something just below the frame, camera

isn’t still, sort of wobbling a bit and the focus keep going
and coming again.

CAROL
Hello… Hello.
Are you ok sir?
Do you need help?

THE CAMERA SWITCHES TO A BEHIND THE SHOULDER SHOT BEHIND CAROL

it shows the man (JIM) looking bashed and beaten. His suit is
a bit scuffed and he isn’t wearing a tie. His hair is dirty
and messy. He looks dazed.

JIM
Wha- what’s going on?
Who are you?

Carol
My name is Carol. You look puzzled and hurt, is every-
thing ok?

Jim
Um I don’t know.

Jim stands up and wobbles, carol catches him. THE CAMERA FOL-
LOWS JIM’S MOVEMENTS FROM IN FRONT OF HIM. He pushes off Carol
confused and falls over.

Carol
Sir I am only trying to help. Here have this water.

Carol passes Jim an un-opened bottle of water from her bag.

Jim drinks some, some spills over him and out his mouth as he
is still a bit confused on what is going on. Carol sits Jim
back down onto the bench, she sits with him and he starts to
come to his senses a bit. However, he still is confused.

THE CAMERA FACES JIM AND CAROL ON THE BENCH AT A MID SHOT.

Jim
What happened?
Carol
Sorry I don’t know, I just saw you on this bench out
cold!

FLASHBACK of Jim lying knocked out on the bench.

Jim looks around trying to see something he recognises.

Jim
Where even are we?
Who even am I?

Carol
I don’t know who you are, do you have id or a phone?

Jim checks his pockets but all he has is a used tissue and a
sweet wrapper.

Jim
Um, no.

Carol
Alright well I can help you find what happened if you
want, I’m not in any rush to be anywhere.

Jim
Yes please.

Carol
Ok well let’s go to that coffee shop over there and see
if they know you.

Carol points to the left of Jim and he looks over.

FADE IN:

EXT. STARBUCKS - (DAY) - WIDE SHOT

Jim and Carol walk into frame and enter Starbucks. THE CAMERA
FOLLOWS BEHIND THEM AS IF IT IS SOMEONE WALKING, FOLLOWING
THEM.

CAMERA CUTS TO A WIDE ANGLE OF THE COUNTER which shows Jim and
Carol waiting in the line. There is quiet background sounds of
people have conversations sat down in the cafe. Jim is looking
around as if he has never seen a shop like this. Carol looks
at him confused but chooses not to say anything, she holds her
questions to herself.

CAMERA CUTS TO AN OVER THE SHOULDER SHOT FROM BEHIND THE

BARISTA.
BARISTA
Hello, welcome to Starbucks, how may I help you today.

Carol
Hi there, just a quick question, have you ever seen this
guy before or even served him?

Barista
Um, this is a Starbucks ma’am, not a police station.

Carol
I’m sorry I totally understand but this is an emergency!
He has been in an accident and he hasn’t really come to
his senses yet.

Jim is wondering around Starbucks in the back of the shot

looking confused, grabbing random things and being ultimately
funny towards the audience without knowing.

Barista
Well I don’t think I have seen him before sorry I can’t
help you today… Next please!

Carol walks away from the counter looking defeated. She grabs
Jim’s hand and walks out with him.

EXT. STARBUCKS - (DAY) - MID SHOT

Standing outside of Starbucks, Carol is looking at Jim and Jim

is looking at Carol.

Carol
You need to get a hang of yourself ok. Yes I know stuff
might look new to you because you have forgotten stuff,
but if you want to figure out this stuff then you need to
help too, I am a random woman who was nice enough to help
you, I’m not doing this by myself, you need to help your-
self too!

Jim looks stunned, and Carol is now relieved she let that out.
Then Jim switches to having a sense of empowerment.

Jim
Ok, let’s do this, let’s figure all this out. Is there a
police station around here?

Carol
That’s more like it, yes there is one just a minute away
from here, let’s go there.

FADE IN:

INT. POLICE STATION - (DAY) - MID SHOT

THE CAMERA INSIDE WATCHES JIM AND CAROL ENTER THE DOORS they
walk to the nearest officer still in the same shot. Jim taps
the officer on the shoulder as he is talking to another offi-
cer and his back is towards them.

Jim
Excuse me sir, where can we ask about some information?

OFFICER 1
That would be just over there.

Officer 1 points to somewhere out of frame and Jim and Carol

look over and start walking.

Jim
Thanks!

CAMERA CUTS TO A SHOT OF THE COUNTER WITH AN OFFICER BEHIND IT

and Jim and Carol walk up to it.

Carol
Hello, have you heard anything that has happened to a man
either last night or this morning? Because I found this
man out cold on a bench this morning and he doesn’t know
what happened or who he is.

OFFICER 2
Well I will have a check for you, give me one second.

CAMERA MOVES TO BEHIND JIM AND CAROL AND LOOKING AT THE DESK
AND THE OFFICER BEHIND IT. Officer 2 is sat behind the desk,
he is flicking through a file and then stops on a page and
starts reading.

Officer 2
It says here that there was a man who had just come from
a night out with his friends, he was drunk and he was
mugged and taken somewhere. It also says that we are
holding the man who had mugged the guy, and have the
stolen stuff as well. However they couldn’t find the per-
son who was mugged. Let me get the stuff to see if that
rings any bells for you.
Officer 2 walks away from the desk. Jim looks at Carol really
excitedly.

Jim
This could be it! We might be able to figure it out!

Carol
Yes maybe! Let’s hope so.

Officer 2 walks back into frame after a couple seconds of

waiting after the dialogue, and sits back down. He shows the
items that they have found from this incident.

Officer 2
Ok so we have a phone, a wallet and a watch. Do these
look familiar?

FLASHBACK of Jim holding his phone, and getting his wallet out
to pay for drinks, you see on his wrist his watch as well.

Jim
Yes! That’s my stuff, it’s starting to come back to me
now. Please can I see inside the wallet, there should be
my id.

Officer 2 takes the id out of the wallet and looks at Jim,

then back down to the id, looks back up, then back down.

Officer 2
Well, it certainly does look like you on this id, says
here your name is Jim Smith.

FLASHBACK of Jim giving his id to buy drinks at a bar.

Jim
Yes I remember now! Thank you so much!

Jim thanks the guard and shakes his hand with enthusiasm, and
hugs Carol to thank her.

Jim
And thank you so much for helping me when you didn’t even
know me.
Carol
It’s ok Jim don’t worry. I am glad I could help you and I
hope everything is ok, here is my number if you ever need
anything.

Carol hands Jim a piece of paper with her number on it and she
walks out of the station leaving Jim standing there looking
happy.
