❖ TALKING ABOUT YOUR DAILY ROUTINE

Examples of someone talking about his/her morning routine.

Joe’s daily routine

Hello. My name is Joe, I’m 20 years old. I usually wake up around six-thirty. After I get
up, I go to the bathroom and wash my face. I don’t shower in the morning because I
usually do it in the evening before I go to bed. Then, I go back to my bedroom and get
dressed. After that, I go to the kitchen and have breakfast.

My mum usually makes breakfast — something simple like an egg and a piece of bread.
I don’t like to drink coffee, so I have some orange juice. I chat with my mum and dad
during breakfast. But my dad doesn’t talk too much. He likes to catch up on the news on
his phone. After breakfast, at around seven thirty, I leave to university. I say goodbye to
my mum and dad, give my mum a kiss and I leave the house.

Joanna’s daily routine.

Hi! My name is Joanna, I’m 24 and I live in Cochabamba. I usually wake up at 7 am,
but I get up only half an hour later. Then, I take a shower and get dressed. After that
I do my hair and makeup and then make my bed. I hate making my bed, but I like the
feeling of completing that first task right after waking up. I don’t really have breakfast,
but I always drink (have) a cup of coffee before I leave home. Then I wait for the bus
to take me to university. While I’m on the bus, I check my WhatsApp.

2P
