[Jemez Pueblo, New Mexico] –On Monday September 25th, 2023 at 11:00am the Pueblo of Jemez
in partnership with the Office of Broadband Access and Expansion (OBAE) is thrilled to
announce a Celebration for a grant received from the Connect New Mexico Pilot Program.
Celebration will be at 139-D Bear Head Canyon Road, Jemez Pueblo, NM.

These funds will be instrumental in advancing our mission to provide high-speed broadband
Internet access to underserved homes within Jemez Pueblo and bridge the digital divide. This
grant award, in the amount $15.2 million ($8.56 million award plus $6.64 million match)
connects 687 unserved units through the deployment of a 45-mile fiber network, and leverages
several existing middle-mile assets to reach the Internet backbone. We are committed to
enhancing the digital opportunities available to our residents, fostering economic development,
and improving educational resources for our community.

The Pueblo of Jemez has long recognized the importance of broadband access in today's digital
age. The COVID-19 pandemic highlighted the critical need for reliable Internet connectivity for
remote work, online education, telehealth services, and more. This grant will enable us to
accelerate our efforts in making high-speed broadband accessible and affordable for all, ensuring
that no one in our community is left behind.
