4TH QUARTER LONG TEST IN PHYSICS II

DIRECTIONS: READ THE QUESTIONS CAREFULLY AND ANSWER COHERENTLY

AND BRIEFLY IN A ONE PIECE OF YELLOW PAPER. ADD NECESSARY EXAMPLES
OR ILLUSTRATIONS IF NEEDED. 10 POINTS EACH.

1. THERMODYNAMICS

A. Thermodynamics is branch of science that studies heat. With the rising heat of Summer, why
do we need to hydrate? How can we convert this heat energy into something useful?
B. Why do we need to maintain "homeostasis or internal temperature balance" in our bodies?
Give 3 examples of how heat affect our bodies and our way of living.

2. SPECIAL RELATIVITY

A. The moon is moving around the Earth. Earth revolves around the Sun. The Sun and the entire
solar system is revolving around the Milky Way galaxy. With these simultaneous movements, do
you think it is possible in the near future to travel in space and time using an advanced
equipment? Why or why not?

3. ATOMIC NATURE OF MATTER

A. Why do we need to study matter in the smallest level? Nanotechnology is becoming a trend
where we study atoms in a subparticle level to understand deeply how states of matter behave.
With the rising developments in Chemistry, how can we create a "balance" between good sides
and bad sides of scientific discoveries?
