Other precaution
If control power supply voltage uses this product in the same input as a voltage measurement circuit by AC.
Please provide a power supply from an uninterruptible power system or dedicated AC power supply backup unit (type:
PBU-93. Option, Refer to 9 section).
If these are not used and control power supply voltage is less than the fluctuation range (AC100/110V±15%) in blackout
etc., it becomes impossible to perform ON / OFF control (any condition of REMOTE/LOCAL), and the relay output by protection
detection.
The abnormal output of equipment (relay break contact output).
The equipment abnormal output of this product is relay b contact output. (At the case of normal, a relay is excited
and the contact is OFF)
For this reason, it takes about 800ms by the contact OFF of an equipment abnormal output from control power supply input
(after the control power supply voltage was settled within ranges).
Please use a timer etc., in order to prevent false detection.
About an initial processing time.
The initial processing time of this product is necessary for about 1 second after control power supply input (after the
control power supply voltage was settled within ranges).
About an protection function stop mode.
This product is equipped with various test modes as a maintenance function.
While performing this mode, all original protection functions are suspended.
The details in each mode, please refer to "8. maintenance and the inspection".
• Sequence test mode.
It is the mode which checks protection detection operation, without applying an input.
Only arbitrary time can make protection detection condition by switch operation.
• Relay test mode.
This mode actually applies an input and confirms protection detection operation.
It outputs the relay contact only for these modes (test).
• Self check mode.
They are an internal memory, display, DI, and the mode that checks whether various option outputs are operating
normally.

(Z1, Z2) input. In the case of DMR-SN, there are no zero phase voltage (V0) and zero phase current (Z1,
Z2) input. In the case of DMR-GN, there is no zero phase voltage (Vo) input. And, wiring of Io changes.
Note(22) If there is no option, there is no CN3.
Note(23) In the case of DMR-BN, analog output becomes to three factors. And, a pulse output cannot be performed.
Therefore, these terminals are non-connected (NC) terminals.
Note(24) As for the zero phase voltage Vo input, polarity of the wiring changes in ZPD and EVT.

● Caution on handling
(1) Please install a terminal cover, if connection is finished.
(2) Please be sure to separate the wiring by the input and the output. Please do consideration (malfunction
prevention) to an exogenous noise.
(3) Please ground a earth terminal (E) in order to increase the shield effect.
And, please give the earthing resistance between a earth terminal and the ground as 100Ω or less.
(4) Please shorten wiring for this product from secondary of ZPD and ZCT, as much as possible.
In order to avoid the influence of noise sources, such as a main circuit, recommend a shielded twisted pair cable
line.
(5) In case analog output is sent at a distance, even if there is a possibility of receiving the influence of indirect
stroke serge etc. in a transmission line, protection is unnecessary for this product.
In addition, in order to protect the equipment by the receiver, please install an about 500V arrester etc. to
a receiver side between the line serge protector, and a transmission line and the ground.
(6) Wiring of analog output recommends a twisted pair cable line. (Normal mode noise abatement)
If the influence of an exogenous noise is large, recommend a shielded twisted pair cable line.
(Normal mode and common mode noise abatement) And, please ground a shield one point.
(7) Please use a shielded twisted pair cable line for a communication output. Please use the same cables including
the inside of a board.
And, please ground in the existing most operative place in a place with many inductive noises.
(8) If an inductive load is connected to a pulse output and an alarm output, recommend installation of a serge
killer to the outside. The life of a contact may become short if there is no serge killer.
(9) This product has the control output of three points. (Circuit breaker trip control by the protection function,
And contact output for circuit breaker "ON/OFF" control.)
In order to prevent the mistake trip of a circuit breaker, please connect these outputs correctly.
(Refer to the following figure.)
Please refer to "6. Control" about operation of an output.
(10) The indication for "ON" and "OFF" LED of this product, carry out by receiving the answer signal from a
circuit breaker by DI. Please connect wiring of DI to an answer from each circuit breaker. (Please refer
to the following figure.)

Note(63) If an error is detected under a zero phase monitor (voltage), in DMR-BN, only 27 and 59 do an output
lock. And, in DMR-SN, only 27 does an output lock.
If an error is detected under a zero phase voltage input monitor, only 64 of DMR-BN does an output lock.
(Even if it detects an error, the output lock of DMR-FN and DMR-GN is not done.)
Note(64) If an error is detected by the fail-safe function, trip operation by protection detection is locked (output
OFF). In addition, the output by switch operation or ON/OFF control of DI and the output by REMOTE/LOCAL
operation are not locked.
DO output locked:Each DO output of "CB-Trip" and "fault 1 to 3".
Note(65) In a watchdog timer and a power supply monitor (5V), CPU is immediately reset after error detection.
Therefore, there is no operation of continuation for 15 seconds, and it will become normal operation if
the error has returned after CPU reset.

(2) A protection detection history can be checked by protection detection history display.
"RECODE" LED is lighted during a history display.
(3) A protection detection history display displays a detection value (maximum value within detection), and a detection
phase (only an instantaneous overcurrent and overcurrent).
In addition, in a directional earth-fault, display a phase angle, a zero phase current, and a zero phase voltage.
The phase angle in this case, if current is a leading phase to voltage, is displayed.
And if current is a lagging phase to voltage, is displayed.
(4) A protection detection history is not cleared even if it does power supply reset.
(5) If a MAX./MIN. RESET switch is pushed for 3 seconds while displaying a protection detection history, a
displaying protection factor history will be cleared.
(6) The protection factor which has not done protection detection to the past once displays "-----".
(7) The detection value is not displayed if the factor of OFF does protection detection by the phase / line display

8.3 Check
8.3.1 Daily check
This product contains the self-diagnostic function by the fail-safe function.
The appearance check, please check the next item. In addition, those who have technical knowledge, such as an
electrical work, need to perform check.
(1) Discoloration of a LCD, and damage of a case.
8.5 Maintenance
(1) Please do not change wiring of an input and an control power supply by the hot line condition.
(2) In case you check an output unavoidably by the hot line condition, please warn to be unable to touch output wiring
and a human body to an input and an auxiliary power terminal.
(3) If it checks an input, an output, and an control power supply, please carry out after checking schematics.
(4) If a name-plate is wiped with solvents (an alcoholic nature), a display item may disappear.
Please wipe with the dry cloth.
The liquid crystal display (LCD) may light during cleaning on the LCD face. However, this phenomenon is caused
by the static electricity that may be produced in the filter, and it does not show any trouble.
Leave the unit as it is for a while, and the display goes out due to natural discharge.
(5) Please keep in mind that it will break if a LCD is pushed strongly. And, if a filter is pushed, a LCD face will
touch a filter. Therefore, the pattern of the shape of a circle or an ellipse may occur.
This phenomenon improves by doing the power distribution of the auxiliary power and leaving it for about 2 hours.
(6) If the temperature and humidity of an installation change rapidly when a product is a non-energization, the waterdrop
by dew condensation may adhere to a display inner side. (The display filter and the LCD surface stick and the pattern
of the shape of a circle or an ellipse occur.)
This phenomenon improves by doing the power distribution of the auxiliary power and leaving it for about 2 hours.
(7) In the case of a periodic check, it is possible by doing test mode (STM/RTM) and self check mode to aim at shortening
of check time. In the case of operation in each mode, please carry out after checking an operation step and an
operating procedure enough.

(Polarity is connection contrary to usual.)
② If the error of an operating value (current) test is large, please perform combination input correction with ZCT
by the zero phase current input correction function (setting number: 2307).
③ If applying of the test voltage of ZPD cannot be performed in order that there may be no step-up transformer,
Please do in 150% of input of a setting value.
(However, a difference may arise in a ZPD phase characteristic with the size of an input.)
④ The performance within a criterion is a performance of a DMR simplex. If it combines ZPD and ZCT, please
make a criterion into the value which added each tolerance.
⑤ Voltage operating value setting of directional earth-fault (67) is a secondary voltage display.
To examine by ZPD specification, it is necessary to convert the input value from a constant voltage generator
into an equivalent for ZPD secondary voltage. (By EVT specification, in order to input directly from a constant
voltage generator, it is conversion needlessness.)
Please examine with a relative input value with reference to a following conversion table and a following

9.1.5 Connection
Please perform connection after checking that CHARGE LED (red) is in lights-out status.
(There is danger of an electric shock at the time of CHARGE LED lighting.)
Please be used combining PBU-93 and a Multi-function digital relay (DMR-Pro, 1 set).
Please connect an output only to P, N terminal (Multi-function digital relay, No. 4 terminal, No. 6 terminal)
of DMR-Pro.
Please install a terminal cover after connection work.
And, please perform input of a power supply after checking that a discharge terminal (D1, D2) is open.
If used of the discharge terminal short-circuit, a remarkable life depression and blackout guarantee time are
shortened. Therefore, there is a possibility that protection detection may become impossible.
② Between the discharge terminal D1 and D2 is short-circuited. (Please carry out after checking a discharge terminal
position.) Short-circuiting must use an insulator to be unable to touch a hand at a conductive part.
Please do not let me contact absolutely other than discharge terminal D1 and D2.
③ Please continue short-circuiting until CHARGE LED (red) puts out the light. Discharge is completed in about
10 seconds.
④ Please cancel short-circuiting between the discharge terminal D1 and D2.
③ Please do not remove a terminal cover at the time of operation. There is a danger of receiving an electric
shock. And, please install a terminal cover after connection work.
④ If connection is done, please be sure to shut off an input and a power supply. And, please carry out after checking
that CHARGE LED (red) has gone out.
(If it performs compulsive discharge, check that the input and the power supply are not applied, please carry
out in the step of the 9.1.6 section.)
⑤ Because internal condenser capacity is large, please stop the continuous power supply switching.
Rush current time becomes long and there is a possibility that equipment may deteriorate.
⑥ If an input power supply is applied by unloaded condition, the electric charge is charged by the inside condenser
even if it shuts down an input and a power supply. Therefore, discharge takes time. (Being natural discharge
about 8 minutes.)
If it does forcible discharge, please do correctly according to the steps. And, please apply an input and a
power supply in the status that it combined with DMR-Pro.

9.1.9 Maintenance
Please do neither wiring change nor discharge work by any means during operation.
And, be careful for people to be unable to touch a terminal.
The terminal cover is mounted for preventing an electric shock accident. Mount the terminal cover
without fail after the end of work.
9.1.10 Storage
Please avoid storage in the place of the high temperature and the high humidity.
Please avoid storage in the place exposed to direct sunlight.
If a long term storage is done in the state of a non-energization, there is a possibility that an aluminum
electrolytic capacitor may do a capacity depression.
In this case, please apply (for 30 to 60 minutes) rated voltage (AC100/110V). (About 1 time in three years.)
