Discuss comprehensively the implementation of UNDRIP in your community by citing examples of

programs implemented by your barangay.

Our community is full of indigenous people. Almost all of its citizen are indigenous people.
Though our community citizens have different ethnic group and different tribes, we live together like
we were blended together, cultures, traditions, traditional knowledge and etc. were blended. It was
originally inhabited by the bugkalots, then after many years many igorots came and lived with them
until igorots became greater in number than them. As time goes by, many culture and traditional
knowledge were gone and other were developed.

Our community don’t want IPs to be forgotten, so we celebrate an IP day. IPs don’t live with
their culture anymore, they only use their traditional costumes and traditional dances when there are IP
day. They dance only when there are occasions and programs, they use it for entertainment. This IP day
at least IP wont totally forgot their traditional dance and costumes, at least people were able to watch
them.

Most IP nowadays are farmers, our community were reached by the program where farmers
will receive financial assistance and other assistance such as fertilizers and rice seedlings. It is an
evidence that shows that IPs have an access to financial and technical assistance. When their properties
and farms got damaged by natural occurrence or their plants, they will receive assistance from the
government. If their land and properties will be damage by public projects such as widening of roads
and building public utilities, they must have consent from the owner.
