I. LEARNING OBJECTIVES
A. Content Standard
The learner demonstrates understanding of key concepts of
permutation.
B. Performance Standard
The learner is able to accurately construct mathematical models
to represents real-life situations using permutation.
C. Learning Competencies
The learner is able to show and explain how they arrive in a
certain solution in solving problems involving permutation.
D. Specific Objectives
At the end of this lesson, the students will be able to:
a) determine the arrangements of objects or the permutation of n
objects taken r at a time;
b) apply the different methods in solving permutations; and
c) relate the process of solving problems involving permutation in
real-life situation.
Yes Ma’am.
5. Motivation
Before we start let’s have a warm up
activity it is an individual activity. I will
post two questions, the first 5
students who got the correct answer
will be the winner.
Let’s start!
Yes Ma’am.
(Students will follow)
Direction: Read carefully the questions
for you to get the precise answer.
1) A woman has 6 skirts and 4
blouses. In how many different
attires may she appears?

How do we find the Permutation of
objects?
Example 1: In how many ways can 5
people arrange themselves in a row
for picture taking?
That’s right!
Using the formula Permutation taken r
𝑛!
at a time P(n, r) = (𝑛−𝑟)!, we will get
360 as the answer.
The value of n = 6 and r = 4.
6!
P(6, 4) =
(6 − 4)!

P = 360
That’s right!
Using the formula for distinct or
𝑛!
distinguishable permutation P = 𝑝!𝑞!𝑟!
we will get 5,040 as the answer.
3 minutes F. Generalization
(Power Point Did you understand the concept of
Presentation) permutation class?
All – Yes Ma’am!
Based from our activity who can sum
up our lesson for today?
Using the methods:
1. Permutation of n object taken
All at a time P(n, n) = n!
2. Permutation taken r at a time
𝑛!
P(n, r) = (𝑛−𝑟)!
3. Distinguishable permutation
𝑛!
P = 𝑝!𝑞!𝑟!
4. Circular permutation P = (n −
1)!
We will be able to find the permutation
of the given objects.
3 minutes G. Valuing
(Power Point How do we apply the lesson that we
Presentation) have discussed to real-life situation?
4. Which of the following formula is appropriate in getting the permutations of an object taken r
at a time?
𝑛!
a. P(n, n) = n! c. P = 𝑝!𝑞!𝑟!
𝑛!
b. P = (n − 1)! d. P(n, r) = (𝑛−𝑟)!

6! 6!
a. (6,4) = (6−4)! c. (6,4) = (4−6)!
4! 4!
b. (6,4) = (6−4)! d. P(6,4) = (4−6)!
6. Antonio received 7 paintings from his boss as a reward for his good work. He wants to hang it
on wall horizontally. In how many possible ways can he arrange it all?
a. 7 b. 49 c. 210 d. 5,040
7. Lila bought a book from each of the 6 different genres. When she got home, she found out
that there is only space for 5 books. In how many ways can she arrange them to fit all of the 6
books? (show your solution on your paper. 3 points)
a. 35 b. 720 c. 2,520 d. 5,040
Expected Answers 4. D

V. ASSIGNMENT
Think about of a situation that involves arrangements. What you’re going to do is to:
1. Write all the possible permutations of n object taken all at a time.
2. Write all the possible permutations of n object taken r at a time.
Note: The value of your n must be greater than 5 and the value of your r must be greater than 4.
3. Find four different words that has 6 – 8 letters and has the same letter in a word. Using the
distinct or distinguishable arrangement solve for its permutations.
