DEPARTMENT OF MICROBIOLOGY

UNIVERSITY OF NIGERIA, NSUKKA

IMPORTANT INSTRUCTIONS FOR ALL PG STUDENTS

A. AT THE ONSET OF THE PROGRAMME


Each student who intends to submit a loose bound thesis must ensure he/she has a file with the
Departmental Postgraduate Coordinator (DPC) containing the following:
1. Provisional admission postgraduate programme
2. Post graduate student personal information
3. Particulars of admission printout
4. Coursework registration form
NOTE:
ALL students are required to submit a file to the PG Coordinator

B. BEFORE EXTERNAL EXAMINATION


The following documents are required for the submission of the notification of any candidate’s
readiness for external examination/request for approval of a proposed examination date to the
College of Postgraduate Studies (CPGS):
1. Certificate of plagiarism test
2. Copy of duly completed course completion form
3. Copy of fees clearance certificate
4. Copy of the approval of thesis title
5. A published review article (MCB 781 requirement)
NOTE:
a. Every MSc candidate MUST submit the first three items to the PG Coordinator!
b. Every PhD candidate MUST submit all the five items to the PG Coordinator!

C. AFTER EXTERNAL EXAMINATION


The following documents, are required for results submission to the CPGS:
1. Duly signed course completion form (Triplicate originals + one photocopy)
2. 4 copies of Fees clearance certificate
3. TURNITIN Report, certified by Supervisor and HOD (1 original + 2 photocopies)
4. Two CDs containing the approved final version of thesis/project report
5. 4 copies Approval of thesis title
6. A published article from the degree research work
7. Evidence of conference attendance and presentation
8. Letter of appointment of External Examiner
9. External Examiner's report (Duly signed)
10. Candidate's Coursework results, with CGPA
NOTE:
a. Every MSc candidate MUST submit the first four items to the PG Coordinator!
b. Every PhD candidate MUST submit the first seven items to the PG Coordinator!
