Airplane General - Walk Around Inspection
General

You must do a walk around inspection before you do an engine

run and/or taxi procedure. The walk around inspection should
follow the same sequence to be consistent and thorough.
The sequence begins at the flight deck to make sure the
airplane brakes are set and flight deck is secure. The walk-
around continues from flight deck to inspect these areas: (follow
diagram for sequence)
• Nose landing gear.
• Forward equipment bay circuit breakers
• Fuselage (on-going throughout the walk) vents, ports,
probes
• No. 1 & 2 engines.
• Wing leading edges and wing tip position light
• Wing trailing edges
• Under wing for evidence of fuel leakage
• Engine exhaust pipe
• Main Landing gear
• APU exhaust
• Tail position light
• Continue to walk around to left side of airplane and
repeat all inspection items as on the right side. The walk-
around ends back at the flight deck area.
