HUAWEI SMARTLOGGER CONNECTION & SETTINGS

This file is prepared for Huawei Smartlogger 1000, 1000A, 2000 & 3000A data logger users. Steps are explained
below to connect SEVEN Solar Sensor Box to Huawei smartlogger.

Following meteorological data to be provided by Solar Sensor Box. Communication protocol is Modbus RTU
and the connection can be made with a two-wire RS485 cable.

1. 3S-IS, Solar Irradiance (W/m2)

2. Cell Temperature of Irradiance Sensor (°C)

3. 3S-MT-18B20, Module Temperature (°C)
4. 3S-AT-18B20, Ambient Temperature (°C)
5. 3S-WS-PLS, Wind Speed (m/s)
6. 3S-WD-I, Wind Direction (°)

1. Cable Connection
Connect the green wire (RS485+) of the output cable of the Sensor Box to COM3 (+) port of the Smartlogger
and connect the yellow wire (RS485-) of the output cable of the Sensor Box to COM3 (-) port of the Smartlogger
as shown in Figure 1. Another free port also can be selected for connection (COM1/COM2) for the same
purpose.

Yellow RS-485 data (-)

Note: 4x0,22 mm2 LIYC11Y PUR or Cat6 cable can be used as the communication and power cable between
the sensor and the data logger.

2. Settings

Seven Sensor Box will not be detected automatically. Settings shall be proceeded by manually.
 Login as "Advanced User" (Default password: Changeme) and make following RS485 settings before
connecting the Sensor Box.
 Select Settings Comm. Param. RS485 (Figure 2).
 Factory default settings for Sensor Box: 9600 Baud, 8N1, address: 1 (or any other baud and id value for
the sensor can be used).

Follow the steps below to add a new EMI device (Sensor Box):
 Maintenance Device Management Connect Device Add Devices
 Select Device Type as EMI.
 Comm. Protocol as Modbus RTU.
 Port number as 3 (or any other, where you connect your Sensor Box).
 Address as 1 and click on "Add Devices".

After doing all the string settings on NetEco, total irradiance and Performance ratio will appear on main screen.
