The newly elected Executive Council for the 2022/23 academic year
A dance session ensued and Kbites interacted with the children whilst
showcasing some dance moves. At 11am, actor cum politician, Honorable
Desmond Olusola Elliott of the Surulere Constituency graced the event in a
bid to pay peculiar respects to the heritage of the school. Upon
introduction, he was amazed to meet a group of young, medical students
dedicated to philanthropy and Social Empowerment. Conversations and a
photo session thereby followed and then we exchanged contacts as he
looked forward to having further discussions with The Keebite.
On the 4th of March, 2022, Life KBite Professor Akinsanya O. Osibogun was inaugurated as the 22nd
College President of the National Postgraduate Medical College of Nigeria in which the KB KLUB was
Invited as honorary guests.
KBites honored the event as usual in their dashing suits and matching ties in the presence of other
dignitaries such as Engr. Gbenga Dairo, the honorable commissioner for transport, Ogun State, His
Royal Majesty, Oba Momodu Ashafa, the Onijanikin of Ijanikin, Dr. Tayo Lawal, Special adviser to the
Governor on health, Ogun State Ministry of Health, among several others.
The investiture ceremony commenced upon the marching of fellows of the college into the hall in
their ceremonial gowns.
After the event, KBites served as chaperones to the various dignitaries present, through which they
mingled, engaged in conversation and exchanged contacts with them.

Bonding Night
On the 24th of March, the Chairman of COSA, KB Protocol, Kbite Folly ensured
Kbites were hosted to a bonding night which took place at Papiee's Meatro,
Yaba. It was fun filled and nothing short of good vibes all night long. LifeKbite
Ekpe-Iko was in attendance and it was a memorable night conversing and
sharing memories and experiences with one another.
NUGA GAMES: The Olympics for
Nigerian Universities
Wednesday, 16th of March 2022. The stage was set and the floor
open. The Nigeria University Games Association (NUGA)’s sporting
activities were set to begin. The seven-time winner, University of
Port Harcourt was present and hoped to increase the number of
trophies and medals in their cabinet but the University of Lagos
was ready to steal this year’s trophy from them.
Seventy-three universities ranging from the federal, state and
private universities came together for the 26th edition of the
NUGA games. Each school gunning for the title but there can only
be one champion.
The formal opening ceremony for the NUGA games was scheduled
for Saturday, 19th March, 2022 at the UNILAG sports complex to
kick start the competitions. The opening ceremony is slated to go
down as one of the greatest in the competition since its inception.
The presence of many great personalities which include Femi
Gbajabiamila, Speaker House of Representatives, Sunday Dare,
the honorable Minister of Sports, Segun Agbaja, CEO, Guaranty
Trust Holding Co Plc, Senator Lanre Tejuosho, pro-Chancellor,
UNILAG made the ceremony greater. A major highlight of the
occasion was the lighting of the NUGA Flames by Honourable
Femi Gbajabiamila who was flanked by eminent personalities at
the occasion.
The highlight of Sunday, 20th March was the match between
University of Lagos and Olabisi Onabanjo University. Amidst the Kbite Salau Opeyemi a.k.a Clanzee,
fact that other games were in play, the seats for the football representing the UNILAG football team
match were filled
After a goalless first half, there was great tension and
anxiety among the fans but the students of UNILAG
had growing confidence in their team. The air was
soon filled with chants and songs in UNILAG’s support.
The deadlock was broken by CMUL’s very own
Opeyemi Salau a.k.a Clanzee, a proud Kbite with the
goal that sealed the victory for UNILAG.
The competition was heated with as the games
continued. UNIPORT had taken the lead on the medal
table with UNILAG not far behind. Although some
positions shifted, certain schools seemed to be fixed
among the top ten positions on the table. UNIPORT,
UNILAG and Nile University held their place at first,
second and third respectively throughout the
competition.
With the tough competition, love was still in the air.
This was evident as romance was not left out with the
marriage proposal on the volleyball court.
As the competition was drawing to a close, it was
evident who the winner would be. The University of
Port Harcourt had secured their position as victors of
the 26th edition of NUGA games after claiming over
120 medals.
The closing ceremony was one of equal grandeur. The Vice-Chancellor of the University of Lagos, Oluwatoyin
Ogundipe, led dignitaries from such as the former Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission
(INEC), chairman of NUGA, Stephen Hamafyelto and Pro-chancellor of the University of Jos, Attahiru Jeff and others,
to the closing ceremony.
The awards were presented the the winners of the competition. Students of University of Port Harcourt came up
jubilating and held the trophy with delight chanting their mantra, “Shoe Get Size: Uniport Get Quality”.
Different artistes were present to at the closing ceremony to add life as the students came together to celebrate the
ending of such a great event.
