Let me share my reflections on our In-Service Education and Training through online
teleconference Celebrating Teachers’ Competence and Diversity Through Demo Festival: Barriers,
Bridges and Breakthroughs.

I want to congratulate everybody specially the people behind this inset. Kudos to all your hard
work. The success of this online teleconference is beyond hitting the objectives.

We did celebrate teachers’ competence and diversity through this demo festival. Many thanks to all
the demonstrators. Because of you, many realizations were made while watching your video
lessons and listening to the appreciation of our MTs, Hts and our principal mam Merlie.

To summarize it all, the demonstrator teachers motivated us to be better. I believe that most of us
gained confidence and were encouraged to be the next demonstration teacher.

At some point, I saw myself in your performances. I saw my weaknesses in one of you and also
saw my strengths in the other. We have our own strengths and weaknesses.

Let us not forget that in this inset, we have celebrated the diversity of the teachers. Each one of us
is unique. Your strength may be my weaknesses and my weaknesses may be your strength. As
per SDS sir Rogelio F. Opulencia “Huwag kang tumigil, huwag kang mapagod at huwag Wag kang
panghihinanaan ng loob” Don’t look on our weaknesses as hindrance to deliver, but instead
capitalize on our strengths. We are all here to learn. Let us all take these opportunities to help
ourselves learn and grow.

Thanks also to the colleagues who helped and pushed our demonstrators to be their best. I
appreciated that most of our demonstrators acknowledged the help and support that they had
received. Indeed, it is also a celebration of good support system that we have in our school. I hope
that we nurture this support system and be the strength of each one of us.

Lastly, thanks to our speakers who shared their knowledge and expertise. Your efforts to answer
the questions in every session are very much appreciated. I congratulate you for the job well done.
Again, the success of this inset is beyond the set objectives. We had identified the needs of the
teachers to be addressed. There is no doubt on the mastery of the teachers on the content,
however, teachers have challenges on the strategies and techniques to make the indicators
evident in their lessons. The way of teaching before is very far from the way we should teach
today. It is our responsibility as educators to equip ourselves so that we would be able to deliver
what we are asked for. We have to accept that we need these kinds of trainings to learn and
improve ourselves. Let us be the best version of ourselves as a teacher for the benefits of our
students.
One of my students before told me, “mam bakit po kaya pag nagkklase tayo parang ang dali-dali
ng math, nakakasagot po aq pero pag exam na parang ang hirap na po…” Let us not forget that
each child has his own maturity, hind man nya lubos na maunawaan ngayon, but in his perfect
time, darating din iyon. Ang mahalaga ay naramdaman ng bata na ginawa natin ang best natin
bilang kanyang guro upang siya ay matuto. At iyon ang damdamin at alaala na kanyang dadalhin
sa pag-alis nya sa ating paaralan.

With this, I am looking forward for more successful INSEt with my Bernardo Lirio family.
