TRAINING GUIDELINES:

The following guidelines shall be observed for the training.

Training Requirements:
Participants hall fulfill requirements:
1. Arrive on time each training session
2. All participants shall complete the 3-day attendance in face-to-face set up strictly adhering to
minimum health standards such as proper wearing facemasks and social distancing. Participants
with incomplete attendance will receive certificate of attendance only on the days they were
present.
3. All participants are expected to bring the following:
a. Laptop (for workshop)
b. Extension cord
4. At the end of each day, you will be given a google form for your feedback on making
future trainings better.

OPENING PROGRAM

The program started with a prayer led by Ms. Susana A.


Esguerra, adviser of grade II - Bonifacio, followed by the
singing of the Philippine National Anthem. After that,
MAPEH teachers spearheaded a Zumba session for all the
attendees to be energized.

The session was enlightened by the message from


one of the master teachers of HES, Ms. Cecillie R. Arlay,
for the INSET to be fruitful. Moreover, Mrs. Marietta P.
Eseque, our dear principal encouraged everyone to
listen to the speakers and engaged to new learning
and opportunities for professional growth and
advancement.

DAY 1
1st SPEAKER (MS.
MARGARITA D. VARGAS)

Ms. Julienne S. Sidocon was tasked to introduce the


first speaker. She is the research paper adviser and
one of the most valuable teachers of Halayhay
Elementary School.

The first speaker was Ms. Margarita D.


Vargas. She gave an overview of the
research process. She was also able to
give a very informative discussion about
research and its process from writing the
introduction and rationale down to
creating our results and recommendation
based on the researchers’ collected data.

She provided samples from different sources for a clearer picture of the process

of making a research paper.

INSET WORKSHOP DAY 1

The teachers had a workshop in which they were tasked with formulating their own
research title. Problems that they felt needed to be addressed, particularly in the
classroom. Each group presented and explained their title after framing the problem.

2nd SPEAKER (MS. RAZEL C. LOVEDORIAL)

Ms. Razel C. Lovedorial, a grade I - Jacinto adviser and


grade chairman. She is jolly, beautiful and kind. She is
also a School LR Coordinator. She focused on the
research tools and instruments. She was able to give
ideas on what instruments are necessary for the
research paper. From her discussion, she said that
research instrument must be able to assist in answering
the research aims, objectives and research questions.

According to her, It should not have any bias


in the way that data is collected and it should
be clear as to how the research instruments
should be used appropriately.

1st SPEAKER (MS. JUDY S. LAXA)

Ms. Margie D. Perdigon introduced the first resource


speaker of day 2. Ms. Judy S. Laxa, the School Reading
Coordinator. She talked about the qualitative research
that involves analyzing and interpreting text, interviews
and observation in order to discover meaningful
descriptive patterns of a particular phenomenon.

She also highlighted and emphasized the purpose of qualitative


research which aimed to get better understanding through first-
hand experience, truthful, reporting and quotations of actual
conversation.
She emphasized that it aims to understand how the
participants derive meaning from their surrounding
and how their meaning influences their behavior.

2nd SPEAKER (MS. ANALYN C. Ñ )

Ms. Cecillie R. Arlay introduced the resource speaker for the afternoon session. Ms. Analyn
C. Avanceña, Learning Recovery and Continuity Plan Coordinator. She discussed about
the qualitative research and delivered her topic precisely and accurately. She explained
what qualitative is, and collecting numerical data that is analyzed using mathematically
based methods.

QUANTITATIVE AND QUALITATIVE RESEARCH

Ms. Analyn C. Avanceña taught the participants to analyze the formulated research title,
if it falls to qualitative or quantitative research. She also asked the them to define and
explain how they came up to this process and method.

Ms. Cecillie R. Arlay welcomed the speaker for Day 2 session. Ms. Julienne S.Sidocon, a
smart, kind and friendly teacher. She is also the Grade Chairman and adviser of grade II -
Aguinaldo. She explained the data collection procedure and its ethical considerations.
According to her “There are many aspects to consider in planning the collection of data.
We have people, finances, schedule, and miscellaneous. It is very important to know all of
this because it will lead us to a successful result of data collection.”

DATA COLLECTION PROCEDURE AND ITS ETHICAL CONSIDERATIONS

Ms. Julienne S. Sidocon emphasized the following procedure in data collection. First, ask
permission from the school heads relative to the purpose of the study. Second, the
construction and development of research instruments used in the study, validated by the
master teachers where the study is conducted. Third, the researchers distributing the
instruments or the survey form/questionnaire to the target respondents. Lastly, the
researchers collected data for treatment with due consideration of sub-problems.

1st SPEAKER (MS. CECILLE R. ARLAY)

Ms. Jerine Aina V. Lugami introduced the speaker for day 3. She is one of the master
teachers of Halayhay Elementary School and very approachable one. Ms. Cecillie R.
Arlay discussed to the Revised Bloom’s Taxonomy (RBT). There are six levels of cognitive
learning according to the revised version of Bloom's Taxonomy. Each level is conceptually
different. The six levels are remembering, understanding, applying, analyzing, evaluating,
and creating. She also emphasized that Bloom's Revised Taxonomy is simply an update to
the original taxonomy that made expanded on the vision of the original while revising the
language and hierarchy of the popular Cognitive Process Dimension to what are referred
to as the 'levels' of Bloom's Taxonomy.

2nd SPEAKER (MS. ROFE B. BAUTISTA)

Ms. Rofe B. Bautista, the LOA and LIS Coordinator, adviser of grade IV - Jacinto and one
of the master teachers of HES. She is very approachable, hardworking and thoughtful. She
was assigned to explain the SOLO framework.
She relayed that SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) offers a structured
outline for the learners to use to build their learning and thinking. “It motivates students to
ponder where they are presently in terms of their level of understanding, and what they
must do to progress. The structure of observed learning outcomes (SOLO) taxonomy is a
model that describes levels of increasing complexity in students' understanding of
subjects.”

3rd SPEAKER (MS. Ñ )

Ms. Analyn C. Avanceña’s discussion was about the construction of SOLO framework.
SOLO (Structure of Observed Learning Outcomes) offers a structured outline for the
learners to use to build their learning and thinking. It motivates students to ponder where
they are presently in terms of their level of understanding, and what they must do to
progress. There are five levels of SOLO that we need to remember and understand.

SOLO FRAMEWORK CONSTRUCTION

Each team was assigned to have a group name and make a short cheer before
presenting of the outputs. One of the tasks was to construct SOLO framework test
questionnaires in preparation for the 3rd Periodical Examination. Each team cooperated
and participated to the workshop.
