1. In line with the implementation of republic Act No. 10533, or the Enhanced
Basic Education Act of 2013, the Department of Education issues the enclosed
policy on The Learning Action Cell (LAC) as a K to 12 Basic Education
Programs School-Based Continuing Professional Development Strategy for the
improvement of teaching learning where in the School Order No. 007,s.2023
also known the Conduct of Monthly School Learning Action Cell.
2. Through this policy, the DepEd fully supports the continuing professional
development of its teaching personnel based on the principle of lifelong learning
and DepEd’s commitment to the development of teachers potential aimed
towards their success in the profession. This can be done through the school
based LAC, which primarily functions as a professional learning community for
teachers that will help them improve practice and learner achievement.
3. In tittled “Presentation of data on the reading intervention: Zero-out Non-
readers in School Year 2022-2023” this June 29, 2023.

4. This policy will remain in force and effect unless sooner repealed, amended or
rescinded.

5. Immediate dissemination of and strict compliance with this order is directed.

ACTIVITY COMPLETION REPORT

ACTIVITY TITLE:
“Presentation of data on the reading intervention: Zero-out Non-readers in School
Year 2022-2023”
IDENTIFYING INFORMATION

Participants Description: Teachers & School Head
ACTIVITY DESCRIPTION
Description: The Department of Education has mandate to conduct LAC
SESSION once a month in every schools. This is under the DepEd Order 35
series 2016.

Objectives:
 To discuss the result of EGRA & CRLA.
 To zero-out nonreaders at the end of school year.
 To create reading innovations.

Preliminaries:
 The school Head informed the SLAC Coordinator to set the date and venue
for the conduct of SLAC.
 The SLAC Coordinator prepare for the LAC session( program, certificates,
resource speaker and venue)
Design & Methodology of Event:
 The LAC Session started with an audio video presentation of a short prayer,
singing of the Philippine national anthem and then the singing of DEPED
hymn. Attendance recognition followed and Ma’am Angelita T. Gabiana give
her Welcome Message.
 Afterwards the conference proper started with the topic Enhancing Learners
Reading Literacy with the resource speaker none other than Ma’am Mirasol
A. Edusma
 The resource speaker discussed the result of the EGRA & CRLA for the 3RD
Quarter and provide additional Insight from the EGRA & CRLA BOSY held
on Babaclayon IS.
 The teachers address the factors, issues and concerns affecting the reading
level of their learners.
 The school head, initiates a conduct of reading enrichment program every
afternoon to the pupils who are nonreaders.
 It was agreed to conduct an intensified reading program to those learners
who struggled in reading and a “no read, no pass” policy will be implemented.

The LAC session ended with awarding of certificates and Closing Message
Management & Monitoring Strategies:
Attendance, pictorials, ACR and feed backing
Logistic Arrangement:
Gadgets (cellphone/laptop), projector, white screen, extension wires

RESULTS

Output/s:
 ACR, pictorials, attendance
Innovations/Initiatives:
 Reading Enrichment Program of teachers to learners who are nonreader.
Participants Feedback:
 Participants agreed to the remedial reading enrichment in the afternoon.
 The objectives and aims were achieved.

Issues & Challenges:


 A 100% attendance wasn’t achieved due to some personal and important
matters the teachers has to attend first.
Intervention Implemented:
 A 100% attendance is expected next LAC session.
New Plan Strategies for the next conduct:
 For the next SLAC we will invite stakeholders to attend the LAC session.
