Cause

The COVID 19 pandemic disrupted EU states’ economies and EU’s long term economic stability.
Europe still faces dangerous levels of inflationary pressures, higher prices of goods and services,
and increase in public debt.
(Wreford, 2022)
Cause
The Russo-Ukrainian war
has had a significant
impact on the European
Union, including
economic sanctions,
increased energy
insecurity, and
geopolitical tensions.
These consequences have
highlighted the need for
the EU to address the
crisis through a
coordinated and strategic
response to mitigate the
long-term impact on the
region.
(Lopez, 2022)
Implication

Tighter funding and weaker

economies in 2023 will likely
undermine shadow banks’
competitive advantages over
traditional banks, ending several
years of robust growth. The Bank of
England called attention to the same
issue last month.

(Foroohar, 2023)
Implication

The crisis is forcing

shut industrial
companies in order to
conserve energy (DENINA &MCFARLAN, 2022)
Implication

The war in Ukraine, the

lingering COVID-19 pandemic,
drought, and global supply
bottlenecks, have slashed
Europe and the European
Union; facing a specter of
stagflation, specifically in Paris,
France.

(Reuters, 2022)
Implication
As the European
Union faces rising
energy costs and
growing energy
insecurity, urgent
action is needed to
ensure sustainable
and affordable access
to energy for all.
Failure to address
these issues could
have far-reaching
economic, social, and
environmental
consequences.
(Beacham, 2022)
Implication

The inflation rate in

the Eurozone has
reached 9.2 in 2022,
the highest since
1997 due to the
Ukraine-Russia war.

(Eurostat, 2023)
Implication

Unsatisfied people are voicing

their concerns and grievances
over the lack of a proper
response to the energy crisis.
