LESSON PLAN IN MATHEMATICS GRADE 9

Prepared by: Kimberlaine T. Endorte
Mentor: Gemma S. Calo-oy, Ed. D.

Specific Objectives Topic/Content/ Activities/Procedures Assessment Assignment

1. GREATLIN - a polygon with three sides
and three angles. It is one of the basic
Skills: shapes in geometry.
 Analytical skills and 2. MONITORGRETY - it is a branch of
critical thinking skills mathematics that deals with the study of
relationships involving the lengths and
Method: angles of triangles. Derived from the

triangle and metron means to measure.
3. ORATI - it is a quantitative relationship
between two or more quantities, often
expressed as a fraction or in the form of
"a to b."

C. Analysis

The teacher will display three real life

pictures of right triangles, and ask the
students to observe the pictures
presented.

After the students participated, the

teacher will ask the students to guess
what the lesson for the day based on the
activity and the pictures presented.

D. Abstraction
The teacher will begin the
discussion on The Six Trigonometric
Ratios.

a. Parts of a Right Triangle in terms

of opposite side, adjacent side
and hypotenuse.
Let us have this illustration:

Hypotenuse is always the side

opposite the right angle, it is the longest
side of a right triangle.

The side opposite an angle is called

an opposite side, and the side which is
also a side of the angle is called an
adjacent side.

b. The Six Trigonometric Ratios

The three primary trigonometric

ratios are sine, cosine, and tangent.
The three secondary trigonometric
ratios are cosecant, secant, and
cotangent.

Example 1.
Find the six trigonometric ratios of
each of the acute angle of the given
right triangle.

Example 2.
Use the Pythagorean Theorem to find
the missing side of the given triangle.
Then find the exact values of six
trigonometric ratios in relation to ∠R.

Given:
p=13; q=12; find r.
E. Application
Group Activity
Instructions: The students will be
grouped into three members per group
with each member assigned to a task
(leader, secretary, timekeeper). Ten (10)
minutes will be allotted for the activity.
Rubrics is used for assessment.
a. Complete the statements.

b. Big Group Sharing

The students will share their output
to the class asses through the
rubrics.

F. Generalization
a. What did you learn from today’s
lesson?
b. How can we apply this in real-life
situations?
