INTRODUCTION

A. Background

Field Work Practice is a pattern of managed education jointly between

Vocational High Schools and the Business World/Industry World/Professional
Associations,Government as Partner Institution (IP), starting from the Planning
stage,Implementation, up to the Evaluation and certification stages which are one
unit program.

The duration of the Field Work Practice is 3 months effectively. The Field
Work Practice Pattern is applied in the process of implementing SMK in order to
bring the quality of graduates closer to the abilities that are interested in business
world/Industry World/Professional Association (Government). Thus, a student is
said to be able to develop life skills/skills if mastered in earnest complete
expertise, the main expectations and activities of this Field Work Practice in
addition improve the professional skills of students to suit the demands workforce
needs so that students have a work ethic that includes: ability to work, motivation
to work, initiative, creative, results of work that quality, time discipline, and craft
in work.

B. Field Work Practice Objectives

Implementation of Field Work Practice aims to:

1. Producing a workforce that has professional skills, namely a workforce that has
a high level of knowledge, skills, and ethos work according to the demands of the
job market.

2. Strengthening the relationship of attachment and equivalence (link and match)

between SMK and industry.

3. Improving the efficiency of the education and job training process professional
quality.

4. Give recognition and appreciation of work experience and as part of the

educational process.

C. Benefits of Field Work Practices

Collaboration between Vocational Schools and the world of business/industry

or agencies implemented in the principle of mutual assistance, mutual
complement, and mutual complement for mutual benefit. Based on this principle,
the implementation of Field Work Practices will The learning outcomes of
Industrial Practice participants will be more meaningful, because after graduation,
you will really have professional skills as a provision to improve their standard of
living and as a provision for development himself on an ongoing basis.The
professional skills acquired can raise the self-esteem and self-confidence of
graduates, which in turn will encourage them to continue their careers improve
their professional skills to a higher level.

D. Time and place of Field Work Practice

The Field Work Practice was held from 27 July to 22 October 2022, located at
CV. Blackpaint Art Indonesia, Jl. H. Soebrantas, Komplek Panam Square
shophouse block D13-D14, Pekanbaru, Riau.

DISCUSSION OF FIELD WORK PRACTICES

A. Theoritical review

Banner is one of the promotional media that is printed with Print Digital
which is generally in the form of Portrait or Vertical. Banners are a simplified
form of billboards. According to KBBI, a banner is a message or news that
becomes information for many people and can also be used as a promotional
language for trade that attracts consumers to identify a product.

According to Wikipedia, a banner is a promotion of an object,services,

places and others that will be an increase in sales for a business, and the whole.

According to Kriyantono, banners are a form of non-personal communication

that will convey the message to sell a product that will make many consumers to
buy what it sells and pay for the media used. Advantages of Roll Up Banners
Placing an ad using a roll up banner has its advantages as follows;

1. Practical

With a size that is easy to carry, make a roll up banner practical to store.
So that at the time of the exhibition, you just need to remove the banner from the
bag, and pull the banner to rolled top. By using a roll up banner, you no need to
install multiple support poles.

2. Display Detailed Ads

Banners, as well as banners. Provide information important to readers.

With the right size, you can convey the message in it in detail. Complete
information and details will help consumers know which be delivered. It is very
important to be shown in the media marketing.

3. Displaying Designs to Attract Consumer Attention

Printing banners or roll up banners, must use interesting design. To be

successful in marketing, create readers curious about the information provided.
The first step, define a unique design. So as to produce an image that makes the
reader curious about the information.

B. How to print visual banner

1. Tools and materials needed

a. Computer

the main tool used for connecting media with printer

b. Eco solvent xp 600 machine visual printer/printer

c. Scissors & cutter knife a tool for visually cropping to the required size

d. Luster Material, there are several materials that are suitable as roll up banner
media such as, Pvc, pet banner, albatross, and luster. luster material used is a
request from the customer.

e. Double tip & transparent duct tape for adhesives.

f. Roll up banner frame, the most important material, namely, the roll up frame
that will be later visual mounted on the frame

2. Steps to print visuals

a) Turn on the computer and the eco solvent xp 600 machine then clean head, turn
on the vacuum and heaterb) Enter the design into the Photoprint flexi application
and set the size and distance image outputThen click send if the spacing and size
settings are appropriate, process. This is called the ripping process.

c) Next, attach the luster material to the machine and determine the base point(sets
the boundary point where the image will start printing).

d) After that, adjust to find out so the color doesn't change at the time of printing.
The straight line must be located at number 0, if the line at +1 or -1 must be
aligned to zero by clicking the number +1 or -1 on the print adjust menu.

e) Then print the image and wait for it to finish

f) After finishing the print, dry it visually for about 15 minutes to make sure think

is dry and sticks perfectly to the material. If it is dry, cut the image according to

the pattern and size using scissors.

C. How to string up roll Up Banner

1) Prepare a roll up frame

2) Paste the double tip on the back side of the upper visual, then fold it according

to the visual boundary.

3) Next attach the folded part to the frame and insert the pipe to lock the visual

and the top frame.

4) When finished, attach double tips to both ends of the frame and attach the

covers to both ends e) After the upper part of the frame has been installed, then

attach the lower part of the visual with the roll frame, by attaching the glue found

on the frame

5) Paste transparent duct tape to strengthen the connection and roll up does not get

stuck when in use.

6) After the visuals are installed, then remove the roll locking iron and the roll up

banner is ready for use.

SUMMARY

During the Field Work Practice I was placed in the higress sticker division,

but not only did I print stickers, I also did the following jobs:

1. Installing and finishing the tripod banner/infraboard

2. Installing Photoframes

3. Cut the sticker

4. Install Evendesk

5. Finishing Y banners

6. Finishing Roll up banners

7. Polyflex paying screen printing

8. Installing custom boss pen visuals

9. Understand the types of sticker and banner materials

10. Operates Mimmaki and Roland machines

I gained a lot of knowledge during my street vendors, such as knowing the

differences in function, advantages and disadvantages of sticker and banner

materials. In addition, I also got a lot of experience while in the world of work.

CLOSING

A. Conclusion

During the activities of street vendors I got a lot of knowledge and

experience at Blackpaint Art, not only banners, I also understand how to print
stickers by using Eco solvent machine, Roland, and Mimmaki. Finishing I also
understand like photo frames and infraboards. PKL activities are very help form
professional and productive human resources based on recognition of professional
standards of employment. 3 months is very long short for me as haven't been able
to learn more ways operate the machine.

B. Suggestion

1. PKL activities should be carried out for approximately 6 months so that

students get a solid experience and ready if after graduation face the world of
work.

2. It's best before sending students to street vendors the school should really see
the skills and discipline of students in everyday PBM. Students who can't be sent
should not forced to leave so that there are no problems that occur between
schools and companies.

3. The mental preparation of students also needs to be considered
