GUIDELINES AND MECHANICS FOR

THE SEARCH OF DDC AMBASSADOR AND AMBASSADRESS 2019

THEME: Hunger Games (12 Districts)

The theme of the Senior High School Week is based on the fictional novel titled Hunger
Games. The grouping of the students is based on the 12 districts of Panem, namely:

District 1 – Luxury District 7 – Lumber

District 2 – Masonry District 8 – Textiles
District 3 – Technology District 9 – Grain
District 4 – Fishing District 10 – Livestock
District 5 – Power District 11 – Agriculture
District 6 – Transportation District 12 – Mining

I. INTRODUCTION

The "DDC Ambassador and Ambassadress" is a wit, talent and beauty inside and out
search of the students of Davao Doctors College, Inc., Senior High School Department who will
serve as ambassadors of the school in promoting youth advocacies in our school and
community. They will also attend programs and activities relevant to their titles.

The candidates will compete on the following categories:

1. Close Door Interview

2. Talent Show
3. Community Extension Proposal
4. Production Number
5. SHS Theme Attire
6. Career Attire
7. Formal and Long Gown Attire

II. QUALIFICATIONS

1. Each district shall provide one male and female student candidates.
2. The candidates should be a bona fide student of Davao Doctors College Inc., Senior High
School Department.
3. The candidates should not have any failing grade and any major offense or disciplinary
records.
4. The candidates should not be member of the Society of Elite School Ambassadors and
have not win any title in the school or outside school.

5. The candidates must present a photocopy of their IDs, a filled-up Curriculum Vitae, 3R
whole body picture, photocopy of their 1st quarter report card.
6. The candidates should reach the following height requirement:
Male: 5’5’’ or 165 cm
Female: 5’3’’ or 160 cc
7. The candidates will be subjected for height measurement on __________.
8. Age requirement for the candidates should be 16 years old to 20 years old on the day of
the pageant.
9. Each district shall have only three handlers. Professional handlers are allowed.
10. Handlers, candidates and other members of the district are expected to be at their best
behavior – respecting the organizers, judges and personnel of the event. Unruly behavior
is subjected for a disqualification.
11. All participants should be punctual in all the events especially for the practices and
meetings. Late candidates will be given 2 points deduction.
12. The judges’ decision is final and irrevocable.
13. The crowned DDC Ambassador and Ambassadress will automatically be part of the
Society of Elite School Ambassadors.

III. IMPORTANT DATES

The following are the schedule dates for the Search of DDC Ambassador and
Ambassadress.

1. November 8, 2019 – General Orientation

3. November 15, 2019 – Sponsor Tour
4. November 22, 2019 – Close Door Interview
*Community Extension Proposal (Afternoon)
5. November 29, 2019 – Talent Night
6. December 2019 – Senior High School Week (Opening program)
7. December 2019 – SHS Week Culmination

*Note: Practices will be set by the organizers.

IV. GUIDELINES FOR THE CATEGORIES

Categories are classified into two (2) parts – the Preliminaries and Coronation Proper.
The following are the mechanics and guidelines for each category including the criteria for
judging:

A. PRELIMINARIES (40%)

Some categories for the preliminaries will be done before the coronation day.
Preliminaries are worth 40% of the total scores of the candidates. The following are the
categories for the preliminaries:

1. CLOSE DOOR INTERVIEW (20%)

Close Door Interview is a one-on-one interview of the candidates with the
judges. The candidates will be asked questions by the judges. They are given
one (1) minute to answer each question and the judges may raise follow-up
questions if not satisfied. The candidates will be wearing their uniform on the
day of the Close Door Interview. The following are criteria for judging:

Beauty: 30%
Poise & Personality: 20%
Total: 100%

The candidates – male and female – who garnered the highest score are
the Mr. and Ms. Eloquent.

2. COMMUNITY EXTENSION PROPOSAL (10%)

Community Extension Proposal (CEP) is a way the candidates present
their proposal for activities that helps the school and the community. They will
be presenting it in front of the judges. The CEP should follow the SMART –
Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, and Time-Bounded. The CEP will
be done also in a close door manner. The Community Extension Program of
the crowned DDC ambassador and Ambassadress will be adapted by the
Society of the Elite School Ambassadors headed by them.

Each candidate is given 3 minutes to present their CEP. They may prepare
a powerpoint presentation in presenting provided they have saved it in a flash
drive and should be given to the organizer one (1) hour before the proposal.

3. TALENT SHOWCASE (10%)

Not only beauty and brains, the Search for DDC Ambassadors and
Ambassadress should be talented also. The candidate shall present their talent
during the talent night.

Talent presentation shall not exceed three (3) minutes excluding entrance
and exit. Usage of fire and big props on stage is strictly prohibited. Skill
talents rendition is encouraged but must not endanger the candidate. It should
be solo performance. Uses of back-up performers are not allowed. The
following are the criteria for judging:

Poise and Bearing: 15%
Audience Impact: 15%

the Best in Talent

B. SPECIAL AWARDS

Special awards will be given to the candidates who showed their personality to
their fellow candidates and the other people. The following are the special awards.

1. MR. AND MS. CONGENIALITY

Each candidate will choose from among their fellow candidates, whom
they prefer/consider to be the friendliest. This will be done through a secret
ballot prior to the pageant. The male and female candidates who will get the
highest number of votes will be declared as the MR. AND MS.
CONGENIALITY.

2. MR. & MS. PHOTOGENIC

The candidates shall have their photoshoot in the school campus by the
official photographer appointed by the organizers. The candidates will wear their
Casual/Formal White Collection attire. No other colors should be present in their
attire. Non-compliance to the specified attire will be disqualification on the
category.
The official photographer will be the one to choose the Mr. and Ms.
Photogenic. The following are the criteria for judging:

Elegance: 25%
Poise: 25%

3. CORPORATE AWARDS
The sponsor’s representative will judge/choose from among the candidates
the one who ideally embodies their product or company. This award will be
given by the company representative during the pageant night.

4. PEOPLE’S CHOICE AWARD

People’s Choice Award will be given to the male and female candidates
who got the most votes through the partnered telecommunication company. The
voting will be done through texting. The candidates who got this award will be
automatically be part of the Top 6.

C. CORONATION CATEGORIES
The 60% of the total score of the candidate will be coming from the different
attires and event of the coronation categories. The attires will be worn during the
coronation day. The following are the attires and the event:

1. BEST in PRODUCTION NUMBER (15%)

These will award will be given to the male and female candidate who
outstand others during their production number. The candidates will wear their
Formal White Collection attires. The following are the criteria for judging:

Beauty: 20%
Audience Impact: 10%
Total: 100%

The candidates – male and female – who garnered the highest score are
the Best in Production Number.

2. DISTRICT ATTIRE (20%)

The candidates will wear their respective district attire showing the
essence of their district. Their attire should present the district’s identity.

The attires should not be not longer than 1 foot from the body on all sides
and the headdress is also 1 foot from the head on all sides too. Non-compliance
of the guidelines means disqualification of the category. No hazardous and
pyrotechnic materials should be included or worn. The following are the criteria
for judging:

The candidates – male and female – who garnered the highest score are
the Best in District Attire.

3. FILIPIÑANA – BARONG ATTIRE (25%)

The candidates will wear the National Costume of the Philippines –
Filipiñana and Barong. Candidates should wear the appropriate national costume
with elegance and grace. The following are the criteria for judging:

Elegance of the attire: 40%
Beauty: 30%
Poise and Bearing: 20%
Audience Impact: 10%

The candidates – male and female – who garnered the highest score are
the Best in Barong and Best in Filipiña, respectively.

NOTE:
The score from the preliminaries (40%) will be added with the coronation
categories (60%) to determine the Top 5 for both male and female candidates.
The Top 6 candidates will be coming from the People’s Choice Award. In case
of the People’s Choice Awardee is one of the Top 5, the 6 th ranking candidate
from the preliminaries and the coronation categories will be Top 6.
