Baguio Lion's Head

Landmark History
The enormous Lion’s Head monument was carved from a
large existing limestone that was sitting along Kennon Road.
It was commissioned in 1968 by the Baguio Lions Club and
completed in 1972. It stands 12 meters (40 feet) tall. Prior to
carving, the rock was already a landmark that had a natural
resemblance to a Lion’s Head. Especially when observed
while driving up Kennon Road heading towards Baguio City.

Appearance
Over the years it has had a number of di"erent looks. Being
painted gold and black, white and brown, and yellow at
di"erent times.

Tourist Attraction
It’s an attraction worth seeing that’s next to an amazing view.
Definitely an iconic, photo-worthy Baguio monument. Pretty
much anyone who knows Baguio, will immediately recognize
the Lion’s Head, and know you visited Baguio.
