I tried to walk on water, for awhile I did defy

Like a bird I felt so free as the waves crashed gently around my feet
It was calm when I set out, but I walked into a stormy sea, and though I still
believe, gravity is pulling me
As the waves get higher and higher, I begin to fade
And I begin to wonder what happened to that girl who was so brave

I’m in up to my shoulders, what will be my fate? As uncertainty crashes over and

now I’m in up to my face,

where is the light where is the life line where is my faith? I close my eyes and
start to pray, start to dream of better days
And as I struggle through the waves, I see a sun lit sky beyond the clouds and I
decide I’m gonna stay, cause solid ground is just an illusion anyway

So I turn my eyes up to the sky and I call upon your strength and you lift me up
with wings of an eagle I’m soaring on my faith, step by step I hold your hand as
you whisper in my ear, that everything will be ok, that you will take me to the
promised land, so I’ll turn to you, run to you, hide in you, and I know I’ll be ok
