Information Sheet :
KEYBOARDING

Keyboarding is the activity of typing information into a computer or word processor.

Touch-typing is the practice or skill of typing using all one's fingers and without looking at the
keys.
Correct keyboarding technique requires proper hand positioning at the computer keyboard
and learning to key by touch, thus enabling eyes to remain on the copy rather than watching
fingers.

Typing posture:

Your fingers should always rest on the home keys. If you can reach up or reach down to the
other letters, your fingers should always return to the home keys. The home keys are F for the
left hand and J for the right hand.
