Computer can be used in the following places
1. Schools : For teaching and learning.
2. Offices: For keeping customers record.
3. Banks: For counting and saving money.
4. Hospitals: for diagnosing and treating sick people.
5. Homes: for playing games and watching movies.
6. Airports: for monitoring and controlling aeroplane
flights.
7. Markets: for selling goods and services.

COMPUTER ROOM

A computer room is a place where computers are kept for


usage. It is also a place where we learn how to use or
operate the computer.

Computer Systems: For learning


and processing data.

Computer Tables & Chairs: For siting


comfortable while using the computer

Projectors: For displaying contents


on the screen

Uninterrupted Power Supply (UPS) –


For storing electric power backup

Printer: For printing documents

Scanner: For scanning pictures

Air Conditioner: For cooling the


environment.
RULES & REGULATIONS OF USING COMPUTERS
1. Always read instruction carefully.
2. Always shut down the computer after use.
3. Always ask for guidance.
4. Do not pour water on the computer.
5. Do not bring water close to the computer.
6. Do not delete important files.
7. Always scan for virus.
8. Always follow your instructor’s information.
9. Remember to always save your work.
10.Always clean a dusty computer before use.

1. Abacus is a device that is used for counting.


2. Abacus is made up of wooden stick, beads and
strings.
3. Abacus can perform addition and subtraction of
numbers.
4. Abacus is the first counting device.
5. Abacus is also known as the first computer.
ELECTRONIC DEVICES
Electronic devices are items that rely on electricity to
work. They cannot work without an electric current
Examples of electronic devices

NON - ELECTRONIC DEVICES


Non electronic are items that do not rely on electricity
to work. They can work without an electric current

COMPUTER PRINTER
1. A printer is a piece of hardware for a computer.
2. It allows a user to print items on paper, such as
letters and pictures.
3. Mostly a printer prints under the control of a
computer.
4. Many can also work as a copying machine or with a
digital camera to print directly without using a
computer.
5. A printer is known as an output device because it
prints out contents from the computer system

COMPUTER SCANNER
1. A scanner is a device used to transfer images into
a computer.
2. It can capture images placed on it and transfer it
into the computer system.
3. A scanner is an input device because it sends it
contents into the computer system

• Use eraser tool to erase unwanted parts.
