(STEM) STUDENTS’ RESEARCH PERFORMANCE OF LEMERY SENIOR HIGH
SCHOOL

Scope and Limitations of the Study

This study covered the level of performance of STEM students in Research with

respect to identifying the problems, formulating related literature, designing ways in data

collection, interpreting data and summarizing data. The extent of the difficulties

encountered by STEM students in making a research paper with regards to personal,

teacher related, and facility related factors were also determined.

The descriptive method of research was utilized in this study using the

researcher-made questionnaire. Furthermore, interviews were also employed in the

study to substantiate the result of the study.

The respondents of the study were all the Grade 11 STEM students of Lemery

Senior High School with a total of 99 students where 49 were from STEM 11-1 and 50

from STEM 11-2.

For profound analysis of the data, the study will further go into a hypothetical

testing of determining the significant relationship between the level of performance of

the STEM students in Research and the extent of the difficulties they encountered in

writing research paper.

The study delimited the other academic strands, Grade 12 STEM students and

Grade 11 STEM students who are not currently enrolled in the subject. However, the

study was limited only to the concerns restricted in the statement of the problem and to

the responses provided to the devised questionnaire.
