MEANING OF SOCIAL MEDIA
Social media is an online technology that facilitates the sharing of ideas, thoughts, and
information through the building of virtual networks and communities. It is a category of sites
that is based on user participation and user generated content. User can share anything on social
media by using internet. People can communicate on social media quickly and easily. User can
share their thoughts, photos, videos, audios etc. Through social media one can connect with
other person who is staying away. Social media provides great reach to the users to connect
with other people.

Social media originated as a way to interact with friends and family but was later adopted by
businesses that wanted to take advantage of a popular new communication method to reach out
to customers. The power of social media is the ability to connect and share information with
anyone on Earth or with many people simultaneously. Social media may take the form of a
variety of tech-enabled activities. These activities include photo sharing, blogging, social
gaming, social networks, video sharing, business networks, virtual worlds, reviews, and much
more. Even governments and politicians utilize social media to engage with constituents and
voters.

Social media's role in helping businesses is significant. It facilitates communication with


customers, enabling the melding of social interactions on e-commerce sites. Business
organization uses the online information for marketing purpose and market research. It helps in
promoting products and services, as it enables the distribution of targeted, timely, and exclusive
sales and coupons to would-be customers. Further, social media can help in building customer
relationships through loyalty programs linked to social media.

MEANING OF BLOG AND IMPORTANCE
A blog is a short form of “Weblog”. It is an online journal or informational website displaying
information in reverse chronological order, with the latest posts appearing first, at the top. It is a
platform where a writer or a group of writers share their views on an individual subject. In this
online journal, you could talk about your daily life or share about things that you were doing.
Then, people saw an opportunity to communicate information in a new way online. Thus began
the beautiful world of blogging. People maintained blogs before the term was coined, but the
trend gained momentum with the rise of automated published systems, most notably Blogger at
blogger.com, which lowered the technical barrier to entry for formatting and organizing posts.
Now, self-hosted platforms such as Word Press offer new levels of functionality, with a large
ecosystem of talented designers and developers serving the varied needs of millions of users.

IMPORTANCE
1) Helps Get Your Website Found
The ultimate goal in creating blogs is to drive as much traffic to your website as possible.
When you create a blog post this creates one more indexed page on your website,
meaning its one more opportunity for you to show up in search engines and drive traffic
to your website.

2) Use That Traffic to Convert Visitors to Leads


When you attract new visitors to your website this creates a new opportunity to generate
leads. This is where your Call-To-Action (CTA) buttons come in handy. A CTA is a way
of directing your website visitors through your website, to keep them engaged on your
site, guide them through their journey from awareness to purchase. Good CTA’s include
“Find out more”, “download”, discounts, free offers, options to subscribe to your mailing
list, etc.

3) Blogs are Long-Term


Once a blog is indexed in search engines it stays there, meaning your blog can still gain
traffic and generate leads weeks, months and even years after. Don’t look for instant
leads and hundreds of views; give your blog time to generate interest.

4) A blog can help you advertise


Research shows that around 80% of companies prefer to have an advertisement in the
form of a series of articles instead of the traditional "buy now" agenda. And customers
are also getting a little tired of the conventional ways of commercials and advertising, so
the creative ways to present your services are crucial to the modern business
environment.
STEPS TO CREATE BLOG
1) STEP 1: Type Blogger in Google search engine and enter.

2) STEP 2: Click on the first link that appear in the search result.
3) STEP 3: Click on the “Create Your Blog” button.
4) STEP 4: Sign in with your email id.
5) STEP 5: Provide a name to your blog.
6) STEP 6: Then provide URL name for your blog. So that people can see your blog to
whom you are sharing the URL.
7) STEP 7: Provide display name which can be seen by the people who are reading your
blog.
8) STEP 8: On the left side, click on “NEW POST”.
9) STEP 9: Provide title to your blog and then you can share your content in the below
page. Now click on “PUBLISH” button to post your blog online.
10) STEP 10: Now your blog post can be seen in the picture below. You can share the link
with people and they can read your blog through that link. You can find the link below of
