    The book is a compilation of around 40 lectures covered over a semester with

    teaching period of four months. The text have been used for teaching by me in five
    even semesters during 2006 – 2010 and have undergone many changes during this time.
    The book has been designed to be a text book for final year B.Tech. and MBA
    students and first year M.Tech, students. In addition, practical case studies and
    processes have been included for utilizing the book for training the employees of
    an industry where Energy Management Program is getting implemented. Substantial
    attention have been given to include subject matter as well as questions & answers
    required for Certification Examination of Bureau of Energy Efficiency, Government
