SEASON OF CREATION ACTIVITIES

Theme: “Let Justice and Peace Flow”
September 25 to 29, 2023

I. INTRODUCTION

The Season of Creation is a time to celebrate the beauty and wonder of God's creation, and to
reflect on our responsibility to care for it. This year, the Season of Creation runs from September 1st
to October 4th.

With the theme, “Let Justice and Peace Flow”, we are called to join the river of justice and peace, to
take up climate and ecological justice, and to speak out with and for communities most impacted by
climate injustice and the loss of biodiversity.

To bring Jamesians and the whole St. James School community together to celebrate the beauty of
our natural world and to raise awareness about the importance of protecting it, the Science,
Mathematics, Christian Living, and Araling Panlipunan Departments prepared activities to achieve
these goals.

I. Objectives:

b. To improve students’ social skills and develop specific knowledge of different topics.

II. Core Values: Synergism

III. Mechanics:
Bingo is one of the interdisciplinary fund-raising activities of Science, Mathematics, Christian
Living, and Araling Panlipunan. Each Bingo Card costs Php5.00. Purchasing Bingo Cards shall be
voluntary.
Setting Up Bingo:
a. Bingo cards have 25 randomly numbered/worded squares on them, with the word "BINGO"
written across the top. The goal is to cover 5 of those squares in a vertical, horizontal, or
diagonal row.
b. There are 75 different letter-number/word combinations. Each letter-number/word
combination corresponds with a square on the scorecards. One letter in the word “BINGO” is
assigned to one subject area and shall provide fifteen (15) terms/numbers under that letter.
The letter assignment is as follow:
B – Science
I – Mathematics
N – Edukasyon sa Pagpapakatao
G – Christian Living
O – Araling Panlipunan

Playing the Game:

a. The caller draws a letter-number/word combination at random, without looking. Here’s the
twist. Instead of reading it out, the caller will ask a question or problem that describes the
number or word picked. The question or problem will be read twice.
b. After the caller reads out the letter and question, check your Bingo card to see if you have
the answer to the given question under that letter. If you do, mark that square. If you don't
have the term or number that answers the question, you don't have to do anything.
c. The caller continues to call out different letter-number combinations. Players should keep
marking the squares on their Bingo card whenever a corresponding letter-number/word
combination is called. A player wins if they get 5 covered squares in a horizontal, vertical, or
diagonal row.
d. There's no limit to how many letter-number/word combinations the caller reads out. They'll
keep choosing new combinations until someone wins.
e. When a player gets 5 covered squares in a row on their Bingo card, they should yell "Bingo"
so everyone knows they won. When someone shouts "Bingo," the caller will stop choosing
new letter-number/word combinations. If more than 1 player shouts "Bingo" after the same
letter-number/word combination is called out, all of those players win.
f. The caller will verify the Bingo card of the winner/s.

7. Trivia

a. To raise funds for the departments involved.
b. To help students retain information about topics they are interested in.
c. To expand students’ intelligence and to improve their mental capabilities.

II. Core Values: Sense of Service, Synergism

III. Guidelines:
Trivia is one of the interdisciplinary fund-raising activities of Science, Mathematics, Christian
Living and Araling Panlipunan.
