id as a Political Literacy Platform for

Educating Indonesia's Young Generation

Abstract

In the age of digital media and information overload, nurturing political literacy among the youth
is paramount for fostering active and informed citizenship. This research delves into the realm of
youth political literacy, focusing on the innovative online platform, Bijakmemilih.id, which aims
to educate Indonesia's young generation about civic engagement and political processes.
Bijakmemilih.id was conceived as a response to this challenge, designed to provide an accessible
and engaging medium for young Indonesians to explore and understand the complexities of their
nation's political landscape. Our research employs a mixed-method approach, combining user
surveys, data analytics, and qualitative interviews with platform users, educators, and experts in
the field of civic education. This multifaceted methodology allows us to comprehensively assess
the role of Bijakmemilih.id in shaping the political literacy of Indonesia's youth. In conclusion,
our preliminary findings highlight the potential of digital platforms like Bijakmemilih.id in
promoting political literacy among Indonesia's youth. These insights offer valuable lessons for
the ongoing development of digital civic education tools and underline the importance of
addressing access and equity issues. As we continue our research, we aim to provide a more
comprehensive understanding of the role of new media in shaping the political literacy of the
younger generation, ultimately contributing to the cultivation of active and informed citizens in
Indonesia's democratic landscape.
