9. Candlekeep Murders: The Deadwinter Prophecy
While technically this isn’t a one shot, it’s also one of the best D&D murder
mysteries ever made, so we had to include it on this list. Designed for level 3-5
characters, this series of adventures takes place at the library of Candlekeep,
with the players arriving shortly after the head Keeper of Tomes has been murdered.
Players are then tasked with finding the killer, while dealing with terrifying
monsters, deadly secrets and scheming librarians. The adventure features three new
monsters, a random library section generator, unique NPCs, printable clues, 24
locations inside the keep and an introduction from Forgotten Realms creator Ed
Greenwood.
