ACTIVITY 3_CHAPTER 3

Task 1- CREATE ONE


Directions: Create handmade output of the six
multi-sensory techniques for handwriting. It
should be attractive and very catchy to the eyes
of the learners.
1. DARK RULED AND “BUMPY” PAPER

3. WET – DRY – TRY

4. SPACEKID

5. SENSORY FREEZER – BAG WRITING


6. SHOW SKY, GRASS OR GROUND

Task 2- ENCOURAGE WRITING


Directions: Create an activity with mechanics that will promote writing inside the class. Create
one for grade 3,4,5, and 6. Your activity should be labeled according to the understanding of the
learners per grade level.

Grade 3

Creative Captions
I simply ask them to collect some photos from magazines or the internet. Stick an
image or two into their notebook with a short caption to describe the image. They
can write a 10 word caption or 100 words

Grade 4

Make a Travel Journal


Putting together a travel journal for their family's next vacation is a great way to get
students reading, writing, and thinking about what's happening and what they're
learning on the trip.
Grade 5

Weekly Writing Choice Boards.

Students feel inspired to keep growing their writing skills when they see how far
they’ve come in just a few months.

Writing Sample Prompts:

Describe a talent or characteristic that makes you unique and different.

Tell about a time when you set a goal for yourself and reached that goal.

Pretend you live in a society where children are required to choose their future
career paths in the 5th grade. What path would you choose? Explain.

Grade 6

Amazing blogs Reports


Budding young reporters will enjoy this challenge. Provide them with some
crazy, funny and interesting headlines. Then ask to write the story all about
what happened. As it is a blogs report, I remind them to ensure they include
the five W’s (What, Where, Who, Why, When).
