Computer Networking II (CSD303)

BRIEF DESCRIPTION
This course deals with the practice of setting up, managing and maintaining windows server 2003
infrastructure. It also about the various technical aspects in the creation and the planning of the
establishment of windows server 2003 platform in computer network systems.

OBJECTIVES
This course is designed to:
1. Give students their first hands-on experience with an actual network system by allowing
them to assume the role of a network administrator.
2. Assist students to investigate the complexities in the windows server 2003 software, with
a view to empowering students acquire the knowledge, skills, and awareness relating to
fault tolerant, configuration and troubleshooting issues.
3. Enable students Build their own network by configuring both client and server
equipment.
4. Equip students to practice how to create and manage directory objects using active
directory service and assign user rights, address file system security and share resources
such as printers and file storage.

ASSESSMENT REQUIREMENTS:
Mid-semester examination account for 15%
Class assignments, quizzes and tests carry 25%
End of semester examination carries 60%.
