Statement of Purpose

Bamboo is one of the sustainable materials because in the process of planting bamboo plants
produce oxygen and the speed of growth until they can be harvested for use as one of the material
material. Bamboo itself has various advantages compared to other materials in terms of price and also
elastic and flexible material properties compared to other materials. Bamboo itself when combined with
a calculated structural system or with other materials is proven to be able to create a long span structure
in a building and things it has an effect in space. With the various advantages of bamboo as a building
material , it makes me want to know more about bamboo material.

My connection to bamboo has started since I took s1 first. On several occasions I helped my
seniors create a wide span bamboo shelter used for a charity concert in Pacet, Mojokerto. In the
manufacturing process , I was interested in the concept used to curve the bamboo, namely by V-slash.
It made me wonder what the curved angle of the bamboo could be achieved if the tenpa had to injure
the stem. In addition, my research topic that explores bamboo makes me have to understand the
characteristics of bamboo and also the types of construction.

IVC bambu 2021 as one of the programs that explores how to make bamboo tenatng designs
that are held internationally . I think the program is very much needed by me in supporting the thesis
that I will compile. With various materials that exist around the characteristics of bamboo, bamboo
joints, and parametric bamboo, it will really help me in the process of preparing a thesis.

I hope that I can be accepted as a participant in the 2022 BAMBOO IVC which will lead me to
achieve my dream. Thus I can contribute more to my surroundings.
