    ELP 111 – Fall 2023 – Writing – Getting to Know You Name:

    Write full replies to the prompts below. Try to write in full sentences and paragraphs rather than just single
    words. The purpose of this exercise is for me to find out some information about you and your writing ability.

    1. Tell me about your family.

    2. Describe your home to me.

    3. What do you like to do in your free time?

    4. What makes you really happy? And what makes you angry?

    5. What do you see yourself doing in the year 2033?


    6. How do you use English when you are not in the English classroom? Think of as many ways (reading,
    listening, speaking, writing etc) as you can.

    7. What major are you planning to study and why?

    8. How do you think a good knowledge of English will help you in your future?

    9. If you could go anywhere in the world where would you like to go and why?

    10. What is the easiest part of the IELTS / TOEFL test for you? What is the most difficult? What do you
    think you must do to improve your IELTS / TOEFL band?
