Santa writes a letter to Steven Atanov updating him on activities at the North Pole, including building snowmen, sledding, and eating Christmas treats by the fire. The elves have been busy making toys and painting the sleigh while the reindeer exercise daily in preparation for their long Christmas Eve journey. Santa mentions he will soon visit Steven's house with a special present and signs off to feed carrots to Rudolph and Dasher who are waiting outside the window.

are having as much winter-time fun at your house as we are up here at the North Pole. We have been building snowmen, going sledding, and sitting by the fire eating lots of Mrs. Claus' yummy Christmas goodies. Of course, we have also been working very hard making sure all the presents are ready to deliver! The elves have also been busy painting the sleigh and polishing the sleigh bells. And the reindeer have been exercising every day to get ready for our long trip. And speaking of our long trip, it won't be long before I come to your house. I hope that you will be very happy with the special present I am bringing you! Well, Rudolph and Dasher are peeking in the window at me! I think they are waiting for a little snack, so I had best go find some carrots for them to nibble on! Love, Santa Claus
