10 Different Animals

14/09/2023
INTRODUCTION

Animals are an important and diverse part of the world. From tiny insects
invisible to the naked eye to giant whales that rule the oceans, animals
come in all shapes, sizes, and behaviors. Throughout Earth's history, they
have adapted to a variety of environments, from extremely arid deserts to
dense forests.

Animals are the most common species in the kingdom Animalia, one of
the largest taxonomic groups in the world. Over millions of years, they
have evolved a wide variety of species to survive, reproduce and thrive in
their environment. These adaptations range from the sharp claws of
predators to the bright colors of birds that attract prey.
TIGER

Tigers are the largest cats in the world, surpassing even the Lion himself.
Their scientific name is panthera tigris, belonging to the genus Panthera.
Originating mainly from the Asian continent, inhabiting our planet for
approximately 2000000 years in the Pleistocene epoch.
In binomial nomenclature, 'Panthera Leo' and 'Panthera Tigris' are the
names that designate the lion and the tiger, respectively.

ZEBRA

The genus Equus emerged in North America during the Pliocene. 4.5
million years ago this genus divided into two lineages, the caballine (from
which today's horses come) and the stenonian (from which donkeys and
zebras come).
The binomial nomenclature of the zebra is "Equus zebra". The genus is
"Equus" and the species is "zebra". Zebras are a group of mammals
belonging to the equidae family and are characterized by their distinctive
stripes on their fur.
FROG

The origin of frogs was a mystery until evolutionary biologist Rayna Bell
traced their lineage to the heart of Africa. Genetic analyzes suggested that
the frogs on the islands were closely related to the cane-bellied tree frogs
on the mainland in Gabon.
Anura is the scientific name of the frog. The frog belongs to the class of
amphibians, the phylum Chordata and the kingdom Animalia.

BEAR

The brown bear is native to Eurasia and North America, having also
existed in Africa, but this subspecies is now extinct. Its ancestor, the cave
bear, was deified by ancient humans, being a deity for ancient cultures.
The binomial nomenclature of the brown bear, one of the best-known
bear species, is as follows: Scientific name: Ursus arctos.
PIG

There are two parallel processes of domestication of the pig, one in the
Near East about 13,000 years ago and another in China dated to 4,900 BC.
which makes the pig one of the first animals used by humans.
The pig (Sus scrofa domestica), also called pig, swine, sparrow, pig, swine
or pig, is a subspecies of artiodactyl mammal of the Suidae family. It is a
domestic animal used for human consumption by many peoples. Its
scientific name is Sus scrofa ssp.

ELEPHANT

And although elephants are native to Africa and Asia, they have important
cultural and symbolic meaning around the world. WWF's conservation
efforts focus on saving the world's largest land mammal from both
continents.
The Asian elephant is classified in Kingdom: Animalia; Phylum: Chordata;
Subphylum: Vertebrata Class: Mammalia; Order: Proboscidea; Family:
Elephantidae; Genus: Elephas; Species: Elephas maximus.
OTTER

Otters are part of the Mustelidae family, which has colonized all
continents and their ancestors have been recorded in fossils dating back
more than 25 million years. They arrived in North America through the
Bering Strait about 15 to 10 million years ago.
The sea otter (Enhydra lutris) is a species of carnivorous mammal of the
mustelid family; It is the only extant species of the genus Enhydra.

TOUCAN

The toucan is native to America and lives in southern Mexico, Central

America, the Caribbean region and northern South America in tropical and
subtropical climates. It lives in humid jungles with an abundance of trees
in which it can build its nest.
Toucan binomial nomenclature commonly refers to the species Toco
Toucan, which has the following classification: Scientific name:
Ramphastos toco.
SHEEP

Domestic sheep (Ovis aries) descend from the Asian mouflon and were
domesticated in the Near East. Later, they spread to West Africa, where it
is believed that the ancestors of the Pelibuey sheep come from.
The sheep (Ovis orientalis aries) is a domestic hoofed quadruped mammal,
used as livestock.

BUN

The first monkeys, tailed primates, appeared about 40 million years ago,
possibly in Asia, and later spread to Africa through the disappeared Tethys
Sea. The oldest ancestors of Old World monkeys emerged approximately
33 million years ago.
The binomial nomenclature of the monkey is Cebus capucinus.
