A. Give a sample image of the following types of analog

computers and explain.
1. Slide Rule.

-a ruler with a sliding central strip, marked with logarithmic scales and used for
making rapid calculations, especially multiplication and division.

2. Differential Analyser.

-The differential analyser is a mechanical analogue computer designed to

solve equations by integration, using wheel-and-disc mechanisms to perform the
integration.
3. Castle Clock.

-A castle clock is a visually complicated clock originally appearing near the top of
a castle and later a church tower. The original inventor was Al-Jazari, who
described it in his Book of Knowledge of Ingenious Mechanical Devices in 1206.
Some consider it to be an early example of a programmable analog computer.

4. Electronic Analog Computer.

-An analog computer or analogue computer is a type of computer that uses the
continuous variation aspect of physical phenomena such as electrical, mechanical,
or hydraulic quantities (analog signals) to model the problem being solved.
5. Mechanical Analog Computer.

-Analog computers use a common set of mechanical devices to do their

calculations—the same sorts of devices that convert the torque created by a car's
engine into turning wheels, lifting valves, and moving pistons. Data is “entered”
into analog computers continuously, usually by the rotation of shaft inputs.

6. Pneumatic Analog Computer.

-A further object of this invention is to provide an accurate fluid pressure operated

analog computer which is especially adaptable for automating industrial processes
involving to'wers, reactors, heat exchangers, andthe like, where a small portion or a
small loop of the process can be expressed in the form of an equation.
7. Hydraulic Analog Computer.

-Hydraulic computers model data using the flow of liquid rather than the
movement of mechanical parts. Perhaps the earliest examples are the water clocks
used during the Middle Ages. These used the steady flow and pressure of water to
accurately measure the passage of time.

B. Search for a video link tutorial for each and study how
each type of analog computer works.
