Every year, Jakarta suddenly becomes quieter a few days before Eid al Fitri days. There is no traffic
jams, no crowds of people, no air pollutions. Most of its residents leave the city for Mudik.
Mudik is an Indonesian term for the activity where migrants workers return to their hometown or
village during or before major holidays, especially Eid al-Fitr days. Although the mudik takes place in
most Indonesian urban centers, the highlight on the nation's largest urban agglomeration is Jakarta.
Millions of Jakartans exit the city by various means of transportation, overwhelming train stations and
airports and also clogging highways, especially the Trans-Java toll road and Java's Northern Coast
Road.
The primary motivation of this homecoming tradition is to visit one's family, especially parents.
However, the migrant workers might seek to come to their hometown during this period to attend a rare
opportunity: a gathering of members of the extended family, the rare seen relatives that are normally
scattered in other cities, other provinces or even overseas.
Mudik for Eid al-Fitr, or its similar traditions, exists in countries with Muslim majorities, such as
Indonesia, Malaysia, Pakistan and Bangladesh. Other similar annual homecoming traditions are also
observable in various parts of the world, including Chinese New Year in China, Thai Songkran,
Christmas in Europe, Divali in India and Thanksgiving in America, where family members are
expected to come home during these specific holidays.

Team
Lorde
Wait 'til you're announced
We've not yet lost all our graces
The hounds will stay in chains
Look upon Your Greatness and She'll
Send the call out, send the call out 8X
Call all the ladies out
They're in their finery
A hundred jewels on throats
A hundred jewels between teeth
Now bring my boys in
Their skin in craters like the moon
The moon we love like a brother
While he glows through the room
Dancin' around the lies we tell
Dancin' around big eyes as well, ah
Even the comatose
They don't dance and tell
We live in cities you'll never see on-screen
Not very pretty, but we sure know how to run things
Livin' in ruins of a palace within my dreams
And you know we're on each other's team
I'm kind of over gettin' told to throw my hands up in the air
So there
So all the cups got broke
Shards beneath our feet
But it wasn't my fault
And everyone's competing for a love they won't receive
'Cause what this palace wants is release

Last weekend was my unlucky day ever. Many bad things were coming toward me.
When the morning broke in Sunday morning, I woke up and planned to jog around the
neighborhood. So, I changed my clothes and went to the bathroom to wash my sleepy face. As
I stepped in the bathroom, I landed my foot on soap in the floor and feel down. A perfect
morning for me!
Next, I began my jogging and saw my close neighbor, jogging too. I thought it was a
good fortune to omit the gap between us. So, I jogged to him and say hello. But, how poor of
me, it was not him! It just someone I never met before who looked like to him. I was going
home with red cheeks along the way home.
When I got home, the breakfast already settled and I immediately spooned big portion
of rice and ate. After I have done my breakfast, my mother came up and said that the meal has
not ready yet and she said that I may have a stomach ache if I ate it. It was proven; I had a
stomach ache for the next three days.
I passed my weekend lie down on me bed and be served as a queen. That was not
really bad, wasn‘t it?

Social media is a big part of many teens' lives. A 2018 Pew Research Center survey of
nearly 750 13- to 17-year-olds found that 45% are online almost constantly and 97% use a
social media platform, such as YouTube, Facebook, Instagram or Snapchat.
Social media allows teens to create online identities, communicate with others and build
social networks. These networks can provide teens with valuable support, especially helping
those who experience exclusion or have disabilities or chronic illnesses.
Teens also use social media for entertainment and self-expression. And the platforms
can expose teens to current events, allow them to interact across geographic barriers and teach
them about a variety of subjects, including healthy behaviors. Social media that's humorous or
distracting or provides a meaningful connection to peers and a wide social network might even
help teens avoid depression.
However, social media use can also negatively affect teens, distracting them, disrupting
their sleep, and exposing them to bullying, rumor spreading, unrealistic views of other people's
lives and peer pressure.
The risks might be related to how much social media teens use. A 2019 study of more
than 6,500 12- to 15-year-olds in the U.S. found that those who spent more than three hours a
day using social media might be at heightened risk for mental health problems. Another 2019
study of more than 12,000 13- to 16-year-olds in England found that using social media more
than three times a day predicted poor mental health and well-being in teens.

I loved spicy foods so much. I ate them for my breakfast, lunch, dinner, and snacks in between
them. When I didn’t taste a hint of chili in my food, I wouldn’t even bother finishing it. Until one
week ago, I was almost hospitalized for putting too much chili in my meatballs.
I was eating a bowl of my favorite meatball and put way too many spoons of sambal into it. My
stomach felt like it was on fire on the next day and I got. I thought my stomach ache would slowly
leave me after I let my food out but it turned out that I had more painful stomach ache after. I felt
like stomach gave up on me and I almost did the same thing. My dad asked me to check my
condition in the hospital but my mom told me to let my food out one more time. I chose to did
what my mom suggested, hoping it would work because if it wouldn’t, I would have to follow my
dad’s suggestion. It took time, but my stomach ache felt more bearable than before. Finally, after
almost an hour, I was completely stomach ache-free.
My parents went strict on what I am eating after that day. They made me promise myself not to
eat anymore crazy amount of spicy food. Not that I completely quit on eating them, but I have
been reducing my consumption of them. I am still learning not to eat spicy food anytime I want.
It’s hard, but for the sake of my health, I am doing it anyway.

Earthquake is one of the natural disasters which is the shaking of the earth‘s surface. This disaster
happens in many areas of the world. This brings many victims and material damages.
There are several types of earthquake including tectonic and volcanic earthquake. The tectonic
earthquake is the common one and it happens because of the movement of the crust, meanwhile
volcanic earthquake happens as the effect of volcanic activity.
Earthquake happens as the layers below the surface of earth are active. The basic layers are a solid
crust, a hot, nearly solid mantle, a liquid outer core and a solid inner core. The crust and the mantle
form a lithosphere. It is made up of tectonic plates. The plates are constantly moving and it can make
stresses on the crust.
When the stresses are too big, it causes a fault. The movement happens on the fault as the tectonic
plates are moving. When there is a sudden movement of the crust in the fault line, the earthquake
happens.
The epicenter is the point or the center of an earthquake. However, the shaking can be felt miles
away from the center.
