2. Motivation: Do you know how to cook? What is your favorite pasta dish? Today we are going to learn
how to cook chicken alfredo pasta. What are the ingredients needed?

B. Learning Activities

1. Presentation
Read the procedure on how to cook chicken Alfredo pasta. Take note of the verbs used in each steps.

Chicken Alfredo Pasta Recipe


1. Bring a large pot of salted water to a boil.
2. Cook until al dente
3. Drain the pasta.
4. Dry the chicken and season it with salt and pepper.
5. Cook for 5-7 minutes.
6. Flip the chicken over.
7. Pick up the pan and give it a gentle swirl to distribute the melting butter.
8. Slice the chicken and cover it.
9. Transfer the chicken to a plate.
10. Make the alfredo sauce.
11. Garnish with parsley, more parmesan and black pepper if desired.

⮚ Simple present tense form of the verb used to express habitual action and general truths.
Examples: Kristine always helps her parents after class.
The dogs walk in the park every Saturday.
Luzon is an island in the Philippines.
Jose Rizal is our national hero.

⮚ The pronouns “I”and “you” are used with the based form of the verb.
Examples: I sweep the floor every morning.
You wash the dishes every night.

⮚ Verbs used with third person singular subjects end in an -es or s.

⮚ Add s to most verbs ending in consonant letters.


Example: Luisa reads the newspaper every morning.
⮚ Add es to verbs ending in s, ch, sh, x or z.
Example: The dog catches the ball.

● If the subject is singular, use the s-form of a verb. If the subject is plural and/or pronouns I and You, use the
base form of a verb.
